Maybe, a setback can be that sometimes, the conversion from word to openoffice files can screw the text formatting.

I have been using OpenOffice Writer since I no longer have any program installed by default for editing on my laptop. I opted for an open-source system because it is sufficient to meet my needs. The thing I like most about this software package is that it is free. In fact, as a new person arrives in the office who has not yet been assigned a license for the Office package, it is said that Apache Open Office writer is installed to write documents.
this software package has nothing to envy to other subscription or paid suites, it allows you to write documentary or other files either from blank sheets or from preset layouts.

It doesn't provides a lot of the feature which Microsoft Word provided earlier. Keyboards shortcuts were better managed and used in MS Word. The spelling-check & grammar is not up to the mark. There is no professional troubleshooting and support available. There is no way of collaborating nor any cloud based option both of which were readily available in MS Word.
