LS-Dyna is an industry-wide, well-known software for its explicit-domain simulation capabilities, serving industries such as automotive, aerospace, blast and mining, heavy equipment, chemicals, and more. I especially like LS-Dyna’s multiphysics simulation capability, along with the reliability and accuracy of its simulations. It also offers broad support for many element and material types, including options for degradation and failure-propagation behaviors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LS-dyna has wide variety of the material library along with various cards to help stabilizes the solution and achieve the convergence. That also becomes its downside as minute variation or definition mismatch in the cards can results in completely useless results. Unless and until you know how its each parameter works and how to use each card its really difficult to get appropriate results. Its not at all beginner friendly, You can not directly start learning LS-dyna without any prior understanding or training in FEA domain and tools like, ansys, abaqus, nastran or optistruct.
