# Can you run a Mach 25 simulation in Ansys fluent. Hello, Currently I am trying to validate my use of CFD by recreating the results of a paper focussing on atmospheric re-entry of a space capsule at Mach 26. I have recreated the mesh they used and set it up in Ansys fluent as described in the paper. I have been trying to use a density based solver, steady state with planer as it's 2D. I have been using spalart as the model with energy on. The material is air as an ideal gas with Sutherland model for viscosity. The boundary conditions are pressure far field all around the capsule and a wall at the capsule edge. The reference is from the pressure far field. The method is AUSM and all second order. I then initialise and run but the iterations often go to 1e5 and beyond and the end result crashes. Any help would be great, thanks ##### Post Metadata
