Top Rated AnswerHub Alternatives

AnswerHub is a great solution, with special design sensitivities for developer communities. Gamification is built-in, and the people and company who back the product provide great service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have three areas I wish the product would improve on:
1. Better out-of-the-box themes. The themes provided are by no way "bad," but the designs do not feel very modern.
2. Administrative UI. The design of the backend is very functional. However, there are some tasks, like user management and permissions, which could benefit from greater overall user experience.
3. Plugin user interfaces are a clear after-thought. The usability of these critical components should receive the same amount of time and care the rest of the product does. This is especially true of the GDPR plugin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Badges and reputation points are two of the most effective gamification features available. Being able to control permissions based on their reputation score is a kind of reward for active users. Expert knowledge features improve recognition. Pinging experts is made more accessible with "Ask an Expert," and you can define your area of expertise both manually and automatically within the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The built-in analytic features may be unreliable. Because AnswerHub is constantly being upgraded, some functionality remains unavailable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AnswerHub is enterprise-ready software developed by a company that recognizes the significance of brand recognition and individuality in online communities. AnswerHub was an obvious choice for me, as I was looking for a reputable business forum. It comes equipped with Q&A, brainstorming, and content sharing, but its true strength lies in its adaptability. This allows you to customize the forum's look and feel to meet your community's needs better. While the administrative interface could be improved, all the features and analytics are present, giving you complete control over posts and users. When I encountered a problem with the forum being offline while utilizing their hosted solution, the support team emailed me before I even noticed the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though they are functional, both the analytics and the admin dashboard appear dated. Those who wish to make substantial changes to the forum must first consult with the support and development staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AnswerHub is a valuable tool for developing a question-and-answer-based knowledge base. A great alternative to submitting a support ticket is the provision of less formally sanctioned customer support in the form of hints, suggestions, and incomplete solutions that are sometimes sufficient to meet the customer's needs. I like that everything can be managed, including discussions, questions, and recommendations. It is simple to monitor user contributions and evaluate their standing. Gamification's reputation point feature is amusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The administration interface could use some enhancements. At first glance, the sheer number of possible permissions for performing a particular action on the site can appear daunting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AnswerHub should be implemented if you need an online community for your company or organization. It has built-in support for Q&A, brainstorming, and content sharing, but its true strengths are its adaptability and scalability. Despite the rough appearance of the administrative interface, you have complete control over all content and users. This allows you to tailor the forum's appearance and functionality to your community's specific requirements. Karma-based moderation is attractive because it will enable users to earn a reputation and participate in moderation however they see fit. Gamification features are also accessible, although I have not spent much time using them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although helpful, the analytics are not particularly intuitive, and the admin panel has an outdated appearance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With AnswerHub our employees and users collaborate to find solutions. Having a public-facing, constantly growing knowledge base of content is not only an immense help to our community but also a major selling point for our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is pricey, but we feel like it is a worthwhile investment for the advantages we enjoy from its use. The API is not quite as powerful as I wish it was. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Users have taken the community into their own hands and have been helping each other out. Easing work by our technical support group. We also like the communication we as site administrators have with the engineers and support groups at DZone. We are able to use their portal to submit bug fixes or support requests and they are very responsive and we get quality answers back from them in a timely manner.
The newly designed analytics tools have helped us really hone in on areas that are doing well on our site and where we could use improvement. We also closely watch the analytics to ensure our customer base is getting the responses from us in a timely manner. The Analytics tools help us identify how responsive our support team is by tracking the time to first answer and time to accepted answers. These are the metrics we use to motivate our support staff to offer fast and efficient answers to our clients.
Also, their SSO capability has made this platform easier to use for our customers. Every customer has a profile on our main website and we can use cookies to make sure they are automatically signed in to the answerhub platform. SSO was simple to set-up and the support group was very helpful when doing this initial configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The security settings for spaces/users is not very user-friendly. I was hoping with the new update that the site/space/user/group securities would be easier to work with, but they are not. However, I am now fairly versed in them and can navigate them easily. It was just hard when we were starting out with the platform.
The search function was fairly poor in the previous versions of Answerhub. However, in the latest version they have rebuilt the search engine and it is now incredibly useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- New Admin Portal with Analytics
Answerhub recently upgraded their admin portal, and it is great. The UI is much more pleasing, and things are laid out in a way that is much easier to find what you are looking for. They also created nicer graphics for the site analytics, which are helpful for at-a-glance statistics of how your site is doing.
- Works well (most of the time)
Besides the occasional bug, the forum works as it is supposed to. It is easy for a user to ask questions and perform basic forum tasks. Bugs do come up pretty often, but they aren't show stoppers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Not developer friendly
The api & its documentation are not great. As a developer, I have not liked working with their api and have had to contact them directly to get certain information about their api because the documentation is unclear.
-Searching
The search feature is not good. You can search for an exact title of question and it won't come up in the search results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AnswerHub is the easy choice for a professional grade developer forum. While out of the box it boasts Q&A (with wiki functionality), ideas, and content sharing - where it really shines is in its ability to be customized and extended. This means you can change not only the design, but the functionality of the forum - creating something that is truly complimentary to your community. Needless to say it offers single sign on as well as other login style integrations such as LDAP. The admin panel is a bit rough, but the capabilities and analytics are there - giving you full control at the post and user level. Karma based moderation is a plus as it allows you to let your users earn reputation and help moderate as you choose. It also provides a gamified/ badge platform, although I haven't used it as much. The last piece is the API which allows for greater flexibility and control. But the real gem is their support team. I've only had one issue with the forum going down on their hosted solution - but before I could contact them I had an email from their support team. Five minutes later it was back up and running. Great software by a great company that understands developers, and understands the need to customize and make the forum your own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The admin dashboard looks a little outdated (think Windows 3.1) and the analytics while they do the job are not the most intuitive. Also not a lot of "out of the box" integrations, so if you want to integrate with other items you need to build it yourself or use their professional services (who are super awesome). Advanced customization of the forum requires diving into Java code - which can be a pain, but it's also a very nice to have that let's you customize it at every level if desired. It's also a professional grade forum with top tier support - as such the cost can be a bit of a shock if you're used to open source solutions or lower grade forums. But with that said, it's worth every penny. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is great out of the box, there isn't alot you need to do to get it to work well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Adding some customization can be difficult, and there are breaking changes in a lot of updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
