Even when an issue occurs, Cameron from the support team does an amazing job responding to our concerns with effective solutions. Once you are registered in a state and updates have been made in Anrok, it's fairly straightforward to invoice your customers. **What do you dislike about Anrok?** - Cumbersome initial setup: If you have previous transactions, it requires lots of back and forth with Anrok to confirm correct transactions are pulled in and not duplicated. - Security?: In many cases, Anrok requires you to provide state sales tax login and security credentials to their platform. These are viewable in plain text when you login to Anrok, suggesting lackluster security. - Hit or miss support: Support is predominantly email only so if there's a complex issue it will often result in a lot of back and forth. Given this context, it's terrific that I have a tool that can register for tax liabilities on my behalf and also calculate sales tax for invoices that I've generated to be sent out. I came into my organization after Anrok had been already set up, but I love that it is a low-lift solution to helping me perform the part of my role that deals with this sort of thing. I mostly invoice out of Bill.com and so it's frequently used by me to generate the sales tax (where applicable) to those invoices. Customer support is quick to respond which is helpful as we had dealt with a few issues on the finance reconciliation side (out of my scope). **What do you dislike about Anrok?** I would REALLY like it if there was an 'audit log' or dashboard of sorts where I could actually see that 1) Anrok has gone into Bill.com and reviewed the invoice I just generated 2) See the decision tree it made on whether to apply sales tax or not and at what rate. I was told when I started at my organization that it just 'takes 30-60min' to calculate, with no actual indication of whether that process has started or finished. Any indication that the process 'is running' would be helpful. I had a situation where I sent out an invoice that I waited a few hours to send, assuming Anrok would add sales tax if needed, only to see that it was applied AFTER the invoice was received by the customer - which obviously caused some confusion. **What problems is Anrok solving and how is that benefiting you?** With no background in vendor invoicing / tax compiance, Anrok is greatly benefitting me as it is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for me. ### 10. They will make sure that all the payments are remitted on time so you are compliant from a legal perspective. **What do you dislike about Anrok?** It is lacking the ability to integrate with accounting system. Basically, Anrok has not been really efficient in integrating the majority of the accounting system out there, etc. Xero (what we use here in my company) As an example, when calculating sales tax, you'd need to accrue it in the book when the transaction happenes and reverse the accrual once the payment has been remitted. Currently, everything is super manual that I have to download the transaction data from Anrok (the transaction data is only available for a more premium level of subscription) and do the accruals on my own in an Excel. I decided to go with Anrok and I am very happy with this choice. We integrated it with QuickBooks in no time and it immediately showed where we need to register for Sales Tax and start remitting. Anrok very quickly processed the registrations in all applicable states and started remitting returns and collecting amounts from our bank account and recording transactions in QuickBooks. The user interface is intuitive and simple while at the same time having all that you need to process and monitor transactions flowing in both directions. If an invoice is changed or voided, these changes are reflected automatically in Anrok. Support has been good, especially in comparison to other tax software. For example, you cannot pick and choose a different product in one state and use a different product in another state. The software also does not allow for allocation between products. From there, they quickly work on taking over existing registrations and helping identify other potential exposure. Its easy for me to see whats going on with each location. It is very nice that is so hands-off. **What do you dislike about Anrok?** Not necessarily an issue w/ Anrok, but local sales tax jurisdictions still operate through physical mail. This breaks the loop on automation vs. just having things done digitally. So even with Anrok, you will need to handle physical mail notices still -- but that is really an issue with outdated government systems. **What problems is Anrok solving and how is that benefiting you?** Knowing when / where I have nexus, then handling registrations and ongoing filings. Doing this with your tax accountants is a massive headache as they are typically unresponsive and then end up having you use a system like Anrok anyways.
