Top Rated Animation Desk Alternatives

This application is pretty useful and what I like most about it is that the free version is not bad either. It includes a set of brushes, a storyboard video tutorial, text fonts, beautiful stamps and an ability to use different font colors. This is enough to make . beautiful animation if you're just starting out and want software that's easy to work with. If you are not doing this professionally, it's exactly what you need. The application design is not the most convenient and it can look a bit "childish". Sometimes it's a little awlward to use an application that resembles a screen saver from a cartoon. However, I do. One more unpleasant feature of the application: sometimes it takes a very long time to load. If you do not want to wait, try uninstalling the application from your device and reinstalling it. It's not a difficult app to master, by all means. It took me maybe 3-4 hours to figure out what's what and play around. I actually really like the storyboarding feature since you're able to use it for not just animation, but other kinds of visual content, including video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The app can be a bit slow from time to time, and it has crashed on me a couple of times as well, so make sure to save your project often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that I'm able to work in the free version of the app, it has plenty of features to be useful without having to pay for it. Since there are so many apps where you can only evaluate it after you buy the paid version, this is a good deal. The 14-day free trial version is nice since you'r able to play around with is and see whether you like it or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every once in a while you get adds for other Kdan products pop up, which kind of distracts you. There are practically no tutorials for Animation Desk on how to make an independent video project using ready-made videos, which is kind of a bummer. So, I hope that in the future there will be some improvement in this particular area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While using free version you get advertisements few times which can be annoying and makes you get distracted. The application has minor bugs and it crashes without notifications. It doesn't have autosave so you can lose all of your work when it crashes. The application requires patience and there's also a learning curve. It helps you share your work directly with other people. It sometimes takes a long time to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The application has free features available that can be used without renewal and without buying the paid version. Even in the free version, it's possible to create good content. For example, I like creating illustrations of my fan fiction, and occasionally I use Animation Desk for that. It's not very advanced, but there are some decent tools available and I think it's a good starter option for those venturing out into animation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some minor flaws. Sometimes it does not save the final result or stops in the middle of copying the files to Kdan Cloud Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Animation Desk is both easy and fun to use. As soon as I downloaded it on my phone, I watched the tutorial right away - very detailed. I was able to start drawing within minutes. Very cool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Yes, sometimes brushes and tools are not loaded fully or do not appear at all in the toolbar, and it can be a bit slow every once in a while - but what you get in return makes it all worthwhile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This application is as simple as it gets and very functional at the same time. I enjoy creating high quality animations, and since I was never keen on creating video content, I was pleasantly surprised that with Animation Desk it's possible to edit videos and create storyboards as well. It's possible to make your own mini-movies or cartoons/animations - easy and fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's impossible to add filters to the finished video, change the tilt level, crop, or add animation or a GIF to the finished project. Same thing with images/photographs. You can edit them in a very simple way, however, if you want blurring or any kind of retouching, you're out of luck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My kids have been wanting to create a couple of animations of a little character they came up with - a small round thing in a hat. I didn't want to buy anything and then have them abandon it, so I got this software hoping they'd use it a few times and maybe prove to me they would actually use the paid version of this app or a different one. They watched a couple of tutorials and then figured the rest out on their own. So the thing I like most about this animation software is that it's easy and fun for kids of all ages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing that kind of bothers me is that we weren't able to zoom in - you're able to look at your work only on a standard scale. In addition, the application has very small icons. Oftentimes my kids and I would have to click on the icons several times before actually opening up the menu or using a certain tool/brush. This was a little bit annoying because it slows down the entire process and is kind of distracting to kids. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most of all I like the large selection of tools available and their functionality. With this, you're able to create unique visual products quickly and easily. When I'm creating infographics, I use the minimum number of tools, but still get impressive results. Animation Desk is designed to ensure that you understand it quickly and accurately and use it to its fullest ability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the fact that the application crashes every once in a while. You can spend several hours on one project, and since there's no auto-save, you can lose everything you've been working on. Now I save my ongoing projects every 10 minutes or so, and even if the app does crash, I don't lose too much of my work. I'd really like to ask the developers to fix this issue. I really enjoy apps such as Animation Desk where something that seemed as for reached as drawing animations and getting them "on the screen", now can be as easy as installing an app and letting your creativity flow. Before starting with everything you get an option to watch a three minute video where you get a brief and an informative description of how to use the app and it sets you right off do be ready to draw and make your own animations. I think that with having most of cartoons nowadays being fully digital, its nice to have something like animation desk that takes us back to where it all began. It really does take a bit of effort, patience, and creativity to get some of these animations to look good. Personally, I've enjoyed the process, though I can say that it has been frustrating at times, so there's a learning curve for sure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This app is really good for starters like me. The app isn’t confusing to use like several others. The apple pen connection is very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
