I currently work as an Independent contractor for Andela for one of their partners, One thing I love about working with them is the ease of use of their talent platform, chat system, and payment options.
One thing I have realised, having worked for two different Andela's partners is that remunerations don't get delayed and no matter when you're in the world, there is always a withdrawal method available for you, so your money is not left hanging.
I also love the fact that they handle all legal and contract dealings between you and their partners and make it compulsory that you’re given a one-month notice if the partner is considering ending a contract abruptly, this was an advantage for me when I was laid off from my previous engagement.
Another thing, I love is the job opportunities, the Andela team does their best to ensure that companies that their talents get to work with are global companies building awesome products
One other thing, they do is organising different upskilling programs for individuals in their network, whether one is on an engagement or not.
I must also applaud their customer support team, they're usually quick in responding to issues that are reported during office hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Job Scarcity: The market today is facing a macroeconomy, which means companies are laying off engineers, and most of those engineers happen to be contractors, and some of those contractors are usually Andela contractors, the sad thing here is most of those contractors don't get a new engagement maybe months after they're laid off. The reason I think is that a lot of Andela talents are competing for the few jobs available, the problem is Andela keeps adding new talents to their network even though most of the talents in the network are still looking for engagement.
