Here in amplitude session replays we can visualize the analytics and data and interact with them, draw our findings and hunt bugs smoothly, it ensures privacy and safety by masking confidential contents, which is a key highlight.

After integrating the session replays in the App, no compose items are visible in the replays, and the complexity of integrating it with the latest platform updates. Customer support needs more focus in this case.

**What problems is Amplitude Session Replay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With regard to mobile applications, the transparency of user interactions is very low. Some frequent bugs could not be reproduced and cause a lot of damage, through session replays we can hunt those bugs and have a clear transparency on user experience. Also, through this we can derive graphs of app usage too. As its timeline based it's very easy to trace out the sessions we are looking for.

The fact that it offers up to 50K MTU in the free plan is super helpful for small businesses like ours.

It's great that we can easily filter and do presets to see just the replay parts we want. It's valuable to not have to track the whole product and to only record critical sections like the onboarding part. I also find it easy to use, as setting it up was quite straightforward for the team.

I appreciate the AI-generated Session Replay summaries. Another major advantage is that Session Replay is seamlessly integrated into the Amplitude platform, which makes it very convenient to review Session Replays for user cohorts we already have in Amplitude

At the time of writing, targeted Session Replay is not available. We would like the option to allocate our Session Replays to more specific user segments, such as focusing only on the treatment group in an A/B test where a new feature is being introduced.

We have been longtime fans of Amplitude Analytics, but the addition of Amplitude Session Replay has further improved our experience by enabling us to collect qualitative insights as well.

You can filter replays by existing cohorts, events, properties, and session duration directly on the Session Replay page, so you can watch sessions only for the users you care about (e.g., an A/B treatment cohort).
You can also open replays from Experiment charts to focus on variant‑specific sessions (treatment vs. control) when you’re testing new features.
For capture allocation, Replay uses a configurable sampling rate; teams often adjust the sampling rate via remote settings or flags to prioritize key segments during tests.

The ability to easily view sessions of users who did not convert in a conversion funnel is very useful. It allowed us to identify interface-related friction points and improve our onboarding process. Access to a specific user’s session, combined with user data, has enabled us to easily segment the right users and analyze behavior by persona.

**What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?**

For now, I have nothing to report regarding Amplitude sessions replay feature. I have no friction points. We replaced Hotjar, and this Amplitude’s feature meets our needs well.

This feature allows us to easily detect front-end errors/bugs in our application and fix them quickly, as well as understand the behavior of each of our personas, since they can differ.

I use Amplitude Session Replay together with my product and tech team to clearly see what users do within our platform. I really like the interface when reviewing the recordings, as it seems very simple to me along with the events. This makes it easier to identify problems and helps guide users through the platform. Additionally, the initial setup of Amplitude Session Replay was very simple.

**What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?**

The limit of 10,000 sessions in my plan is very low, especially because you can't configure from which second it starts counting. There are sessions that count from 1 or 2 seconds that are useless and that adds to the total limit. Also, when we try to upgrade our plan, the price increases by more than 300%.

The tight integration with Amplitude events is the best part. Being able to jump from an event or funnel straight into a session replay saves a lot of time and adds great context. The replay previews are also very clear and easy to scan.

To be honest, nothing so far. It feels more polished than other tools I’ve tried, like OpenReplay. The UX is much better, and everything feels easier to understand and use.

I think the interface is intuitive. I value the most being able to scrub or seek specific locations in the session replays and toggle off inactivity because sessions can be really long. I really just want the good stuff to bubble up, and the AI summaries are really good, enabling me to click on a section and go right to it, which does a lot of the groundwork for me.

Whenever I go to session replay, the way it opens up tabs can be really clunky. It'd be really nice if it was more of a portal feel where everything is there because I have to loop through multiple session replays to get a good understanding. The navigation feels like the clunkiest part and the most time consuming as opposed to the actual value I get from watching the replays a few seconds before a crash.

I like that Amplitude Session Replay helps to easily detect the problem if there's a big dropout at some stage of the app journey. For us, it was helpful to resolve onboarding issues and other problems when we were stuck in terms of user journey. The initial setup was easy, and I appreciate its unique feature щf Amplitude.

I find that sometimes Android screen looks problematic; sometimes it does not reproduce exactly what is expected. The buttons on the screen recording don't look the same as in the real Android app.

I use Amplitude Session Replay to better understand user behavior on our tools, and it has been a significant change, especially for our mobile application where there was no other session replay solution. Being able to easily switch from quantitative to qualitative by toggling between Amplitude Analytics and Session Replay is a huge advantage that allows us to confirm our hypotheses and make our conclusions more meaningful, more visual, and therefore more actionable. I particularly appreciate that it is available on the mobile application, which is quite unique in my opinion.

Perhaps an idea, it would be interesting to be able to "prioritize" certain events to record in the session replay. Specifically, with a limited budget where we don't record a huge percentage of sessions, for some features when they are still "small", I would like to ensure that certain events are prioritized in the recorded sessions.

**What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?**

I really like being able to jump to specific time stamps in the session, which allows me to pause, share it with a team member, or discuss what the user has done. This is helpful for navigating the session, as I can sometimes get lost in what I'm seeing. I definitely have been using the AI time stamp feature a lot. The AI suggestions are also interesting and promising, though I think they have room for improvement, and I'm curious to see how they develop further. The time stamp feature is especially valuable because it lets me go back and watch specific moments with my team, allowing me to really zoom in and get granular on what a user is doing.

**What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?**

I've noticed some inconsistencies with different sessions. I'm not always clear on how it has condensed the sessions into a batch of watch moments. I would love if it was a little bit easier to filter, navigate, and search for specific sessions. Having it be more clear in terms of segmenting for a certain customer profile would be helpful.

I appreciate being able to quickly access the videos in Amplitude Session Replay and find it really valuable to see them with ease. The scrubber is great, and I like being able to quickly look at the minute point I want to review. It gives me the control and access I need while going through lots of videos.

**What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?**

I think one of the things that could be improved is being able to group similar interactions via replay. This would help summarize them based on the average action. For example, if a user was having issues with an Apple Pay interaction, and we had 50 different examples of that, culminating those into a group and picking the most relevant ones would mean we don't have to go through all of them. Also, mapping lots of the videos and layering the interactions on one another to see similar patterns happening would be helpful.

The thing which I have found to be of most use with session replays is that you can literally see what the user did, how they did and more importantly what did they redo/undo - what I mean by all this is I was able to see exactly how the users navigated throughout the journey, going back and forth, typing something then erasing or mis clicking a button and going back - all of which can be directly linked to 2 things: UI and data present. For example the data would say a person went to page X instead of page Y but on seeing the session replay we saw that they misclicked page X due to the placement of the icons.

Not being able to download session replay videos. If there would be an option to download session replay videos that would be really cool and helpful.

Mainly being able not just walk through the journey from the users POV but viewing exactly user's journey.I will share a real example on which I touched upon in the last section as well. We had data saying more people went to page X instead of page Y and some of them came back and went to page Y but on seeing the session replay we saw that they misclicked page X due to the placement of the icons and from the users POV who is using the app from the phone it was indeed a miscliked due to the placement of the icons. You can see exactly what the user is doing on a page, down to the last detail like scrolling, taking too much time to do something like type, etc which is really really helpful and benefiting people like us who breath data.

The targeting feature makes it easy to be smart about what I'm looking for, letting me connect it to specific experiments and steps in the funnel where there's high drop-off. It helps me dive deeper into why this is happening by reviewing sessions. I also appreciate how it integrates with Amplitude Agent, letting me look into specific sessions that interest me without spending a lot of time. This tool saves me a lot of time compared to the old tool where we had to manually look into each session. In just a couple of minutes, I can set up filtering and start gathering recordings to look into what really matters. The smart targeting is a lot better compared to what I used with Mouseflow, making it a more efficient choice for our needs.

Sometimes sessions you are looking for are a bit irrelevant even with smart targeting. Improving targeting even further would be great. Also, it is only available on one of our apps, not all, so we can't have an end-to-end view, but I think it's more of our setup issues, not specifically Amplitude. Amplitude Session Replay doesn't have the feature to add scripts to specific pages, so we're reluctant to roll it out to landing pages due to SEO team considerations about page speed. Also, because of limits, we are reluctant to roll it out more widely. The initial setup was not super easy because we have different apps, so you have to set it up separately for each app.

I like the timeline and the timestamp features, which make identifying specific events easy. The ease of pointing directly to events using the timestamp is particularly helpful for me. The initial setup was very easy, with only a small change in the script required to achieve session replay.

I like to improve the visual experience because, when it opens, it's very small. I would like to open it as a medium-sized pop-up so that it's easy for me to visually see what is happening.

Implementation is quick and easy, and you're able to decide on what percentage of sessions are sampled to stay within contracted volumes without development effort.

Session Replay is best utilized with other reporting features, especially AI Agents. It's great to be able to click on a data point and view recorded sessions from users in that data set.

New features are being added frequently, like AI Summaries, so that I don't have to view each session in it's entirety for the one small part that was useful.

On it's own it's not used to understand user behavior. It really is a tool that enriches other features in Amplitude, so it's value is only realized if you're already making use of the rest of the analytics product.

This ability to visually see what occurs during user sessions is significantly more effective than simply reviewing event logs. This capability is crucial in identifying bugs that happen on a user's journey through our application, especially in scenarios where we notice significant drop-offs on specific pages, which we suspect might be due to the configuration of experiments. Therefore, having the ability to delve into session replays to attempt self-debugging offers a distinct advantage. I find the session replays themselves quite useful in these contexts, highlighting issues that might not be evident through traditional event tracking alone.

I don't like how the filter for events in Amplitude Session Replay functions. It doesn't work as effectively as anticipated. For instance, even when I set filters based on certain events or funnel progression, the session recordings do not accurately reflect these settings. This greatly limits my ability to analyze drop-offs effectively, as I can't watch session replays for users who dropped off during a specific event. The filtering logic needs to be improved to make these functions reliable and efficient.

Also ensure at least one event per session includes the [Amplitude] Session Replay ID (matching session_id/device_id). If you use server‑side or third‑party instrumentation, add it via the Standalone SDK; otherwise replays may only surface via User Sessions/User Lookup.
