Being able to easily create multiple VPCs for different parts of our network is amazing. I love not having to worry about how we will provision physical switches, maintain vlans, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Onboarding new team members to how VPCs work and how we manage them creates a new learning barrier for them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sort of essential and flexible for customer requirements and needs in building news solutions in AWS or migrating existing on-premise workloads Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
nothing specifically... the product is flexible in it use but that comes with some associated headaches such as how best to deploy for any one given client requirement. However this is something that is being addressed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to segment networks to allow multiple systems to operate in the same account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We ran into a few problems with network assets in the VPC when using CloudFormation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to specify ip ranges, make subnets internal or external, and the routing table configuration is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
More with Ec2 than vpc, but instance description shows the id of the subnet instead of the actual name Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the value that the VPC provides for a secure VPN like private network. I can quickly setup prototype environments to mirror what I would see in proction without the xecurity concern with internet facing networks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You need to understand the fundamentals of networking and routes. Some of the naming schemes are a little cryptic but you get used to it. You can also route yourself into a black hole if not careful. If you delete the default VPC its a little of a pain to re-create the default. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VPC is very easy to setup. It mimics your private cloud and provides network security which is great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We would like some better options for a NAT gateway. We tend to have few accounts and have to pay around $80 for something that are not using much. Base fee should be removed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Distrubuting my environments, so that DEV doesn't overlap with others. This allows me to grant varying levels of access to different levels of employees. My networking team can easily deploy and manage networking changes using cloud formation scripts. It meets all of our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only complaint is that certain IAM permissions, such as full control, have to be applied at the Account level instead of the VPC level, necessitating that I build multiple accounts for true separation of permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
THe flexibility is amazing. Enterprise-y features that come automaticallyh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only way to peer with another device is via a (relatively expensive) VPN gateway. No simple adding a route via a gre tunnel, or to a middlebox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease to work with, our cloud team really seems to find it easy to work with, I do not direct work with this software, but I have not heard any complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No complaints or dislikes that I have heard at any time within my company. This is a new service our cloud team has startd using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
