Like that it's very easy to manage and buld a network layer, without being a network engineer. No need to wait on another team to remove roadblock Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some things (i.e. security groups) that without a good naming convention can become quite un-manageble. Not sure what the solution is, would need to give it some more thought. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VPCs are awedome because you can create as many as you need to segment all your applications and control your traffic. They are easy to configure and maintain and if done properly you can create a wonderful Transit VPC to be the hub for all your Application VPC Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This isn't really a problem with VPCs but one of the guys keeps messing with them and breaking them and then I have to go in and fix it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We give each of our Dev teams their own VPCs with minimal base account rules applied, and the Devs can work freely without risk to our network or it's services Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VPC peering, in it's current form, does not scale well, so we will be looking heavily at VPC Transitive gateway soon Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AWS VPCs take care of the hassel of having to really understand how networking works. On top of that, you can use scripting to create an env to run your workloads....SUPER EASY! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
unlike google cloud, aws VPCs are restricted to regions whereas Google's spans their entire footprint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's relatively easy to configure the VPC and start using it, and there are several options for power and flexibility in the configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some options that aren't available that would seem to be useful but aren't there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having lived in the tradional on premise datacenter model moving to the AWS infrastructure with its speed to deployment and enhanced security stack such as VPC's has been a game changer for us as well as a significant cost savings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing at this point our new infrastructure is less than a year old. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Flexibility in terms of connectivity. Easy to understand configure and manage. There are a lot of functionalities already embedded in the service. Basic security is easily configured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
no transitive peering. It would have been great if it was supported Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like almost all of aws's services I love the api access. I love how easily I can create new vpcs with either the sdk cli or cloudformation,. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No built in egress filter service or addtional service that allows the integration of an egress filter without the needs of standing up a virtual appliance. I don't want to force all traffic to come through a product that I have to manage from an availability and use perspective. I would love to see an aws service that could solve this problem. The fact that it is impossible to break into your apps within the VPC. The throughput of the events between different apps within the VPC is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are still a relatively new AWS customers and so have not found any issues yet withe the VPC usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
