Therefore I decided to terminate the service and end up the evaluation, and it took me two months submitted different tickets to query how-to. I like the simplicity with which you can go to change the essential data. it has a very user-friendly interface and you have to make it simple to buy a domain or manage it. from here we can set both outgoing and incoming rules on our DNS so as to better manage all the network traffic that occurs on it. Furthermore we can also apply a configuration of our DNS endpoints **What do you dislike about Amazon Route 53?** what I don't really like is the fact that you don't have a subscription that includes everything but you have small subheadings and each of them has its own price. **Recommendations to others considering Amazon Route 53:** I recommend it because even if the interface is simple we can do operations even at low level **What problems is Amazon Route 53 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finally I can have a simple interface with which I can do even very complex things from here. Specially if you use other AWS services, as it autocompletes existing endpoints for some of its services (ELBs, EBS environments, VPC endpoints) to create aliases, that way you never have to update it as long as that resource exists. Most types of DNSs also include really helpful examples, I can not tell you how many times it has avoided me having to search for the right syntax of MX records :P **What do you dislike about Amazon Route 53?** Pointing one DNS to another is great and autocompletes... except when you have a lot of DNSs, which is when you need it the most :( It would also be great if it had the ability to temporarily disable entries when you are testing stuff. **Recommendations to others considering Amazon Route 53:** If you have a service that can not sit behind an ELB, use weighted record sets to round-robin among them. And you can even use Failovers with a cloudwatch healthcheck to provide fallbacks on external services that give you little control over that kind of functionality during maintenances or downtimes **What problems is Amazon Route 53 solving and how is that benefiting you?** DNS management can be a pain, specially if you have to handle your own DNS server through the command-line.
