Bringing up the nodes automatically as soon as the storage limit is reached.
The concept of RA3 is amazing. but if you ask me to compare with other tools in the market redshift didn't mark the expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Migration from DS2 to RA3 nodes.
I have almost 5+ years of experience using redshift. I know RA3 is fantastic and sounds like a competitor for Snowflake.
Just imagine companies have invested there amount and data into a cluster and built so many reportings on top of it.
Now recommending it to RA3, just souts out the cluster DS2 which was built or used initially is of no use.
And slowly I feel redshift is loosing its importance in the Market. Companies who have there modules setup on AWS cloud might be intrested on it.
But personally as a developer, i would recommend snowflake because of the UI they provide and data shares they have.
Just a review on my experience, but kudos to the entire team who came with the vision of RA3. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon Redshift is a cloud based platform where in you can extract almost all of your production datasets in one go. It helps us to avoid the dependency on other files which needs to be downloaded from websites etc. It is a good platform to link with Power BI, Tableau dashboards also. Due to the large volumes of data, the performance of data pull can be slow. Depending on where the server is located, the performance of queries can be affected. So the query performance expectations is varying for each region. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is ideal for data lakes. Very easy for querying. Performance, scalability, security is very robust. Ease of administration is very good. Strong AWS ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a multi cloud solutions. Not fully managed. Concurrent execution is up to the mark. choice of keys impacts performance and price.it is not serverless architecture. price is to high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The way Redshift integrated with other AWS services is amezing. The best part is you don't need to worry about capacity management at the initial phase of the project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It requires more expertise to maintain the database as compared to Snowflake which also provide similar functionality as AWS Redshift. Hence Redshift have long learning curve Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has a slight learning curve and the documentation provided by the AWS team is very comprehensive and easy to understand.
It is better than other products for processing massive data volumes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When multiple queries are running parallelly then the performance of Redshift degrades as the processing power is distributed. Hence, sometimes it takes hours for query execution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

it has the best parallel processing, computing, scalable features are there. Also it can be easily connected with any BI platforms. Scalability and computing speed I like the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing in dislike for redshift, if price can be lesser it is good but still fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon Redshift allows me to pull information from many different sources, and query them like any other relational database. This is key for advanced analytics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A preview feature would be great when viewing a table or view. Currently, I have to execute a query, in order to see any of the data. In Oracle, it would show some of the data whenever I clicked on the table. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redshirt allows us to quickly glean insights from our data. Having large datasets is hard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The connectivity tools can be cumbersome. I hope that soon there are better frontend tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a managed cloud data warehouse that easy to handle big data and it's very scalable that gives insights very fast and easily, It gives good security of data with high performance. It uses for infrastructure development and is easy to support with other apps and w3. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
sometimes is costable to handle the big data and it can be made easy to identify and learn. It has less capability to back up the data and we can't clone clusters easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Redshift is easy to setup from scratch without any expertise in data engineering, we can scale out within minutes and with the use of AQUA, we can query large databases with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some issues concerning flexibility. The cluster options are limited to such an extent that even disk size is available in blocks per node. The concept of subnet cluster does not make sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
