Easy to setup and provision. Very easy to connect from many types of client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The need to run maintenance jobs to clean up storage and enhance performance is a disadvantage. Storage management, runtime performance views and stats collection could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility and the simplicity of using this solution by anyone who is not so familiar with cloud infrastructure and how are they managed behind the scenes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The unique identity of the data being uploaded through distributed data sources does not gets taken care by Amazon Redshift. Other than that, if the data is being uploaded from other sources (except Amazon S3, relational DyanmoDBs), one would need to use some ETL solution or scripts to load the data. auto-suggestion options are good. so easy to write queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parallel uploading and enforcing uniqueness while inserting data is not available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Amazon redshift is a cloud based platform which is user friendly, easy to work with and easy to catch up. And working with it is really interesting. Because, everything issue of a query is showing in a simple way. And efficiency of this is outstanding. Highly recmmended Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Would love a black theme . And if its there, it might be easy to work with and when working with large querries, the high contrast affect the eyes. So that wasnt a major issue. But just a suggestion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Multiple programming support is great, easy to maintain Database connections and add dashboards like Tableau, SAS & PowerBI. Also, Data sharing is easy. A cloud warehousing where is quite simple to add distinct sources and when we are maintaining s3 for storage, EMR for Big Data choice, then Redshift is a good option. Not a multi-cloud solution like Snowflake. The technical way I dislike is that we interact with only one node, i.e the master node, single point of failure can happen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use Amazon Redshift as our DWH. We have set up several virtual machines on AWS for staging and production, which in turn are connected to Amazon Redshift for Database needs.
We write all our scripts using Postgres SQL for redshift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Depending on which location your redshift cluster is located, the query execution time may differ. For eg: If users are running queries from a location far away from us-east-1, this could affect network speeds, which in turn affect the time it takes for results to load. Especially for large-scale data processing as we have tables having terabytes of size and as our Data Pipeline uses multiple other AWS Services it has been the best data warehousing solution so far as it can spin up clusters in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The maintenance required by Redshift cannot be automated, we have to work on data compression sometimes. We have to do regular data vacuuming as sometimes query performance is slowed down due to the high volume of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Redshift is an Amazingly easy to configure, learn & quick to go market service. with a few clicks, your cluster is ready & If I compare the cost with other DW service providers like Snowflake or Synapse for that matter I feel redshift is the most cost-effective service. Its support for data lake via redshift spectrum is fascinating. I do recommend my client's Redshift compared to other cloud providers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If we upscale cluster size, we end up spending lot more time bringing it up. Also more inbuilt Json data type support would be sweet to have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product is really good with good support in terms of documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their ODBC driver is behind the times in the cloud data warehouse space Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
