We haven't had any downtime or management woes since launch! It's also very fast. It's been a big win using this instead of hosting our own Redis cluster. **What do you dislike about Amazon ElastiCache?** It's a big rigid when it comes to upgrades. Updating versions or hardware requires some manual orchestration. This would be fine, but Amazon only officially supports .NET, Java and PHP. There is unofficial support in other languages via open source packages (or you can code your own), but this aspect can be tricky to set up. **Recommendations to others considering Amazon ElastiCache:** Get it. Amazon will do everything for you and there are no real drawbacks from from switching. **What problems is Amazon ElastiCache solving and how is that benefiting you?** Providing in-memory caching to reduce disk/CPU intensive queries and increase web app responsiveness. ### 37.
