Alteryx Pros and Cons

Alteryx is an amazing tool which we can use to automate the excel solutions. It can send out an email to users by attaching the specific excel or pdf or any other format.

I really like this product because it is saving alot of time by creating views and sending mails everyday. We have used it to generate automatic ppt by just one click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Though this tool user friendly but I felt bit difficult when we dealing with complex workflow. It's bit expensive.

The code-free code-friendly concept and speed of processing are unique. Super intuitive to use and easy to master. No code needed, but if you are a coder, Alteryx offers R, Python & Spark coding tools.

I did not find a data source that I could not connect to yet (besides MDX ones).

In/out, preparation, blending, parsing, and transformation tools are the fundamental ones to start analysis.

Even when it already includes some AI/ML models, this area could be improved.

Other area which could be improved is the visualizations. It would be great to create the final users' visualization within Alteryx.

I really appreciate Alteryx for its user interface that allows me to easily create workflows without having to code. It works seamlessly with data sources giving me access, to analytics tools for predictive and spatial analysis along, with data cleaning capabilities. The automation feature simplifies tasks making data processing more consistent and efficient. Additionally the vibrant Alteryx Community offers templates and advice which makes learning a breeze. One of the drawbacks is the presence of some bugs accompanying version upgrades. Because of this, I hesitate to immediately adopt the latest version. However, in most cases, these issues are resolved through patches, so it's not a serious concern. Furthermore, the occurrence of bugs is often linked to Alteryx continuously releasing new tools and features. No code platform means you are up and running in minutes, and will be an advanced user in a MUCH shorter time than using outdated coding methods. This means more people in the organisation can carry out tasks previously isolated to a few people in IT.

Obviously, it would be great if everything were free, but the cost/benefit of this platform is so obvious it's not worth mentioning the price!

Recent moves into the cloud have addressed this problem, and the Auto-Insights module has now introduced interactive dashboards automatically produced using Auto ML.
