The ease of no-code, drag and drop tools means that data literacy no longer requires advanced degrees to solve analytical problems. Having a tool like Alteryx enables anyone in the company that has a problem to actively work to solve the issue without jumping through the hoops of getting your problem prioritized by the data science or analytical teams that would typically take that on. I see two downsides of Alteryx. The first is the cost of obtaining a license, which makes it less accessible for smaller companies. Alteryx is simple enough with its drag-and-drop interface to be picked up quickly. But it is sophisticated enough

Since I started using Alteryx in 2022, I have completely changed the way I think about doing analyses. What used to take hours in Excel now takes seconds in Alteryx, especially for monthly reports that use the same analysis blueprint over and over. My only "dislike" about Alteryx is that if I need to put data into an Excel-style pivot table, I have to export the data from my workflows and put it into Excel instead of being able to use the cross-tab tool within Alteryx (since the cross-tab tool is limited to only using 1 metric to pivot). Using Alteryx gives users exposure to lots of Data Analytics concepts that otherwise would have a very high barrier to entry. This includes coding (which is difficult to get started in), as well as data engineering, statistical analyses and data science.

There can be bugs and inconsistencies that make coding that bid harder. For instance, clicking off a Python Tool, requires the user to rerun the workflow to populate the tool again. Alteryx enables us to create a repeatable, scalable data and analytics recipe that we can share. We use Alteryx daily to combine disparate data from 3rd party APIs, in house databases (such as SQL Server, Teradata, Hive and Snowflake) and other files. Alteryx makes it easy to connect all the dots so we can build reliable data assets. Healthcare is a team sport and Alteryx also enables us to work together - no more digging through chapters of code trying to figure out what someone else did - the annotate ability for each tool makes documentation of complex business rules a breeze - so we can pick up quickly where someone else left off. Alteryx Gallery pulls it all together for us and enables us to schedule our workflows and "set and forget". The ability to configure built in error messages to alert us to when things go sideways means we can get ahead of issues before they flow downstream and cause production issues for our customers. Alteryx makes it easy for us to work with our business partners and rapidly explore data collaboratively and implement new solutions. In addition, Alteryx has an incredible supportive community - when we are stuck we can google, reach out to the Alteryx User Group, or contact our customer success manager. Not everyone has Alteryx Designer desktop due to the expense of the license. When you save a workflow back to the Gallery there is a specific sequence to follow or you could end up with versioning issues. There's so much to love and very little to dislike. You can automate all kinds of data work with no code. Despite being a no-code system, data processing is as flexible as code. For example, you can handle data regardless of the data source, such as extracting data from complex Excel files, extracting necessary data from difficult text files, and connecting to APIs. In addition, you can perform complex data operations in the database without understanding SQL. In addition to data processing, it also has functions from spatial analysis to machine learning, making it a well-thought-out and flexible system for data analysis. If that's not enough, you can code in the Python execution environment of Alteryx, but I rarely need to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Alteryx is not very good at visualization and require a BI tool for interactive dashboard, but It can be handled simple reports.

Although Server can be used flexibly with APIs, it would be even better if some management functions could be used without using APIs.

It is possible to visualize the MAP, but if you want to see it carefully on a map, you need to use it in combination with other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Alteryx is the easiest to learn data and analytics software that I ever had to learn. The drag and drop interface is easier to understand and follow. It allows you to check your work one step at the time, unline something like SQL. The applicability of hte tool, not only to data processing but also ability to use the tool for varius uses is amazing. The ability to implement Gallery and share workflows is amazing because you can capture a wide audience without all of the users having to get designer license. The included version control and access management controls on the Gallery are integral parts in making the Gallery and workflows SOX compliant, which is significant for our Finance department. Alteryx provides amazing trainings and the community is a great support mearuse for those who are just learning to use the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My only complait is error message handling with workflows that have been published to the Gallery. The errors could be tricky to desipher. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how Alteryx makes data manipulation quick and easy to navigate. More and moreso I am using GenAI to accomplish my daily work tasks, I find that Alteryx is often a necessary step to use GenAI. The tools for Alteryx are quite detail oriented, you must make sure you pay extremely close attention to details and be aware that you use matching Alteryx versions of software, super important! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Alteryx allows Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers of every skill level to truly dig into the details of their organization's data. Collect it in a unified source location, schedule the automation of these processes, create applications and macros to further simplify access. Doing this opens the doors for a unified practice of data literacy not seen before in our organization and we are someone you would consider a "data leader" even prior to Alteryx implementation. Would like to see a better implementation of Python and R programming languages and scripts. Being able to embed python scripts now is valuable, no question, but there are limitations that are preventing full implementation of a lot of our processes that are manually initiated in python (for various reasons) that could be further accessible in Alteryx if we could. I love how easy Alteryx is to learn and use. I am a visual learner, so I value being able to see how a process maps out. I like that the possibilities are limitless and that I can continue to learn new tips, tricks, and tools always. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike that I am not able to manually force sequencing. Yes there are control containers, but I still feel like the tools will complete in different orders or run slightly differently each time it is run.
