What I like about Alteryx is that it uses a node based system kind of like KNIMe but more sophisticated. It also allows for us to utilize our own code which a huge benefit for the work that has already been carried out. The most useful aspect for us is the ability to aggregate data from different sources. Orcale, Teradata, SQL Server, large datasets are able to be generated easily and quickly. Sometimes when trying to create datasets when SQL Assistant is lagging or not running at peak performance, I switch to Alteryx and am able to generate my datasets. It is a really good tool for varying levels of data analysis experience.

There is not a much to dislike about Alteryx. Perhaps those individuals with very basic and beginner levels of data analysis and data literacy make require more training to use it effectively. Some of the syntax in formulas are different from other coding languages and require some troubleshooting.

The biggest problem that Alteryx solves for me is the ability to aggregate data from different servers and sources into one data set with all required fields for necessary data exploration and analysis.

Originally, I was put off by the cost per seat (it is hard to justify), but when you do a real ROI against that cost -- you are actually coming out ahead. People are now doing more value-added work as opposed to copying/pasting data into a dataset.

We are able to do things from bringing together over 400 templates into a master template, bring in financial data from various sources, and output into various formats all within a single workflow. The gain in analysis time is staggering. We are talking 1000's of hours back from data preparation.

Alteryx is most helpful by helping the user combine and clean various data sources prior to visualization. Think of yourself as a composer, and each input an instrument. The tools that Alteryx provides--of which there are many--help you refine and balance the sound.

One of the downsides to Alteryx is that its SQL writing environment could use improvements. While the program is a low-code/no-code platform, there are still many situations where SQL is incredibly helpful. It can sometimes be cumbersome to write the code directly in Alteryx, so an additional application specific to coding can be helpful.

For me, Alteryx solves the problem of silo'ed data sources elegantly. For projects requiring synthesis of many different data sources--some structured or unstructured, others automated or manual--Alteryx is a cornerstone in the work. For example, one can blend data from an Oracle database with data from Hadoop, or even data stored in an Excel workbook. It joins them all together and allows the user to combine them all into whatever outputs are necessary for the project. The outputs can be Tableau, Excel, CSV, etc which is incredibly useful as it can "feed" multiple dashboards that use the same data.

First, I want to highlight the graphical interface, which is really very attractive in the visual section, with all its components and tools well distributed. Another aspect to take into account is that it has levels of complexity for each user; for less expert users, there are default modules that can be used from the Alteryx cloud. I also like that it has two options for use. I have been able to use both the desktop version and the one in the cloud, and I must say that both are excellent. The speed of the financial predictive models is really excellent; I have been able to analyze multiple records in a very short time. The data connectivity is another highlight of this software; I have been able to connect to several databases and formats. They constantly warn through notifications of errors that then debug them; they are always very attentive to the service, for which I want to highlight the support team.

There are very few things that I dislike about this service, but I want to let you know that its price is not economical; in fact, it is quite expensive software compared to other financial solutions I have implemented. Alteryx consumes a lot of resources, both in the desktop version and the one developed in the cloud, so I recommend a good data rate. On the creative side, it would be useful to be able to have custom maps. They offer a good variety of templates for this; however, many times our customers want to see different things.

Alteryx has allowed us to improve our business intelligence; we have improved our data analysis with quality automation, and it has brought us incredible financial benefits, especially in our financial department, where we can see changes in the statistical analysis that we provide as a software business. I would also like to highlight their reliability in internal data collection, which has allowed us to see the impact of the development of the applications we create for the most demanding users in the industry. In the sales area, we have also improved significantly with the services provided by Alteryx, being able to better organize our business management and invoices.

My most prominent use case for Alteryx has been to take data from multiple ERP systems and combine it in a scalable and efficient way. We have been able to take something that took hours to do in Excel to something that is updated daily and without errors caused by a manual process.

The downside to Alteryx is that many people see it as a black box and initial buy-in from coworkers or others could be difficult. Some people are so set in their ways and comfortable with how they do something that they refuse to adopt something new.

Combining multiple ERP systems efficiently and in a scalable way. Alteryx is also helping with automating processes that used to take hours to do manually in Excel.

I like that it is drag and drop and easy to use regardless of users technical skills.

The only negative I have about Alteryx is that I wish it had more formulas.

Currently using it Alteryx to clean and manipulate webscraped data to prepare it for loading into Databricks.

Alteryx has become my go to took for "data wrangling." I use it on a regular basis in my work to input just about any type of data for transformation and analytics.

Our group has had challenges with using the SharePoint tool for SharePoint Online lists.

It helps us with combining and analyzing disparate sources of data. We can then output the data into pretty much any form that we would need.

The tools to develop applications using Macros within the Alteryx interface are very complete, you can also perform large-scale data analysis, the software has a great scope and can be implemented by large companies. The SDK tools are without a doubt another outstanding feature of the product. The data mining function for demographic and behavioral analysis is another positive feature of the program, it even allows you to standardize emails by geocoding. Hosted entirely in the cloud, the ease of retrieving data or sending is another reason why I admire the product achieved by Alteryx.

The design for user interface tools can be better developed, I would also like to pay a little less for the product, I think there are cheaper alternatives in the market, however, I would still use Alteryx as it is a very complete program. The organization of data through reports can be improved, as well as the organization of the tools by workflow.

In our company we needed to automate data analysis, and we were tired of using SQL tools, so thanks to this program we were able to automate our entire process of data collection, cleaning and preparation. We have also been able to project more optimal business results with predictive models. We were generating a lot of manual reports that were recurring in the company, so we decided to improve our services and free up time and manpower, Alteryx helped us with the creation of workflows that automate all repetitive processes that we now run on their cloud server.
