I appreciated the fact that they would take the time to work through the entire solution with us and ensure that we were not oversubscribing for services. They take a stepped approach to get a manageable solution in place for scale and add features on later. **What do you dislike about Alta Vista Technology?** Make sure you have a good understanding of the scope of work going into your project. Changes to the scope can add up in cost if you do not do a good job upfront working through all the requirements of your system, and it will cause delays. We were unable to track grants in a way that made sense, did many, many manual giant journal entries, had a chart of accounts that was WAY too voluminous, and our reporting was done in spreadsheets. We had been with another firm that did not give me confidence in their abilities to support our needs. I reached out to Alta Vista to discuss our requirements. They had the right people on the call that could answer my questions directly. We did our due diligence and reached out to references to see if other customers had positive experiences. All the references came back very positive, as expected. Shortly after signing an agreement with them, I gave our existing firm the courtesy of communicating with them why we were making a change. Just before New Years' our existing firm told us that we would lose all of our data in our CRM as of the first of the year. The Alta Vista team jumped on a call with me and provided assurance that the transfer of licenses was done accurately and that our data was not at risk. We integrate our Sage ERP system with Dynamics. This integration was done by our previous firm with no documentation for the process. Shortly after the transfer, the integration stopped working. The Alta Vista team spent time with me deciphering the code to determine why it was not working and what needed to be done to fix it. They worked with me each step of the way until the issue was resolved. **What do you like best about Alta Vista Technology?** They are very responsive. They either answer the phone directly when I call, or they respond to my e-mail immediately. When you have an issue with a system, time is of the essence for the business. **What do you dislike about Alta Vista Technology?** I have not had any issues that have arisen that have caused me to dislike anything. **What problems is Alta Vista Technology solving and how is that benefiting you?** They have resolved licensing issues which has resulted in cost savings and improved cash flow. We didn't know we needed one and we sure wish we had David at the beginning of the project. **What do you like best about Alta Vista Technology?** He is ALWAYS available. I don't know how he does. He is knowledgeable, friendly and if he doesn't know an answer, he gets a colleague involved who does. David communicates so you know what to expect and nothing phases him. **What do you dislike about Alta Vista Technology?** I haven't found anything yet. They have met all our needs. **Recommendations to others considering Alta Vista Technology:** I would highly recommended Alta Vista to anyone considering the company. They have and exceed all expectations that we had. If we didn't have Alta Vista I don't think we would be getting the full use of Intacct otherwise. **What problems is Alta Vista Technology solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are solving problems we had with implementation. Those included bad financial statement set up, incorrect intercompany set up, problems with bank reconciliations, inconsistencies with posting dates from an implementation with a third party pay vendor, to name a few of the big ones. Plus David has helped with a training programs with the Accountants that we never received from Intacct as well as answering the day to day questions that come up. David has made us better users of Intacct. He has allowed us to reach the full benefits of the system and reduced our frustrations with it. It is really nice to have a "go to" person to help when you are new on a software. He is so patient and and knows so much about the system and take the time to teach. I think that is what I think the biggest thing is that we have realized. Is that he knows the value of when he should just make the changes for us and when he should teach us to do it for ourselves. ### 10. We converted late 2019 and as a result, we are able to work much more efficiently on a remote basis which obviously saved us during 2020. Secondarily, Alta Vista helped us take the review of Great Plains data to an entirely new level by converting our reporting and dashboarding to Power BI. We were still utilizing Crystal Reports, and some SRS reporting, and now have the capability to further leverage our Office 365 subscription to review, analyze and report data. **What do you like best about Alta Vista Technology?** The consulting team did a tremendous job, with both aspects, listening to our "pain points" and coming up with solutions to help. We launched this project during the covid 19 shutdown, but proceeded seamlessly through the process, conducting all of our meetings remotely and working collaboratively online. Initial setup of a G/L system is critical to its success, and we wanted to structure it carefully and thoughtfully. I felt like they were a true partner, versus a company getting a job done. I would suggest speaking with the principals prior to going under contract, and testing the fit with the team. Usually when we email with a question or request, at least one person from the team responds within an hour, sometimes much quicker. I've also called the direct line for a few of our team members and they always pick up; I've never had to leave a voicemail. **What do you dislike about Alta Vista Technology?** There have been a few requests that we have made that took a little longer than we would have liked to get done, but I assume we're not the only customer that our team was working with. Most requests didn't take more than a few days to implement though. **What problems is Alta Vista Technology solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have changed almost ALL of our accounting, payroll, billing and reporting processes to be quicker and more automated with Alta Vista.
