When centOS went EOL it was seamless to transition to AlmaLinux. The community has even created a tool to make that migration simple. There is both a server and a desktop version that you can use and Alma is alread being used heavily as a replacement for CentOS so it is pretty dependable and only gets updates when stable. Being downstream for updates makes this distribution stable but not cutting edge. Similar to CentOS there are some hurdles when updating to new software versions because of this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The company I work for currently has CentOS 7 for our advertising system. We are now upgrading these servers and are using AlmaLinux to do so.
