**What do you like best about AkitaBox?**

As I began planning for retirement from my career in facilities management, I realized I had too much of the knowledge of our building histories locked into an excel spreadsheet; and my memory! We needed to invest in a CMMS program to make historical data more available to those who inherit our campuses. 
I researched four competitors, and comparing dollars with services, AkitaBox won the award. AkitaBox was the most user-friendly of the products I previewed, while providing excellent flexibility and opportunity for growth. 
As we have implemented the program, I have been impressed with the service team and their support. I have a single point of contact to whom I can send all questions. Your contact person may not have the answers; but they will be excellent at researching and getting back to you quickly and efficiently. 
Lastly, while it took some time to implement, it also required time to get buy-in from our maintenance staff and contractors. Over the past several months, the maintenance supervisors are seeing the benefits of logging their work orders and time. Our service contractors also see the benefits of being able to tie work orders to specific pieces of equipment. We no longer scratch our heads and wonder when last we replaced that particular motor, bearing, or belt. Keeping track of warranty information is simple and efficient. 
AkitaBox has provided peace of mind and has invested the District’s time and money well.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

AkitaBox does require time to implement. It is not an overnight plug and play software system. That said, the AkitaBox data service techs are excellent at their jobs and made the transition as seamless as possible.

AkitaBox is solving our issues with the management of equipment repairs and PM, providing a single input for tracking work orders. The report module provides a quick and easy review of past, present, and planned work.

Akitabox is great for tracking all of our maintenance tasks.  Work orders are easy to enter and can be easily assigned to the proper personnel in our facilities department. It is a powerful oranizational tool box!

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

Searching for costs associated with work orders in the system can be challenging at times.  Creating a costs spreadsheet within each work order would be helpful.

**What problems is AkitaBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Akitabox, locating mechanical assets within our buildings was often done by physically walking the buildings and searching for each one. With the help of Akitabox, our assets are all marked in the system and can be easily found on the maps of each building.

**What do you like best about AkitaBox?**

This software is intuitive, well put together, and growth potential is enormous. The fact that work orders/requests can be submitted using a floor plan is fantastic. AkitaBox is very user friendly; it is a lot of point and click. Help is only a click away and the reponse time is very quick. They will continue to work with you until the issue is resolved. Suggestions for improvement are always welcomed.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

It would be nice to replicate a work order, i.e., received a request to install AED's at each campus. After the first work order is generated, it would be nice to copy that work order, change the campus location and keep going for the remaining facilities.
When completing a work order it would be nice to have the materials used noted in an itemized versus spelling out every part used.

**Recommendations to others considering AkitaBox:**

End users at the campus have used another CMMS to submit work requests for years. As a general rule, most people do not like change. However, as more and more users come on board, they tell others how easy AkitaBox is to navigate and submit work requests. The skeptics and fearful are calmer and better accept the change to a new CMMS.

**What problems is AkitaBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are working with a company to help with our inventory items. So when a Technician is on the roof and needs a compressor, he can click a button to order the part. The system would then send it over to the parts house, and the part is pulled and delivered to the shop. This would reduce the about of time spent driving to the parts house to pick up the part, waiting for the part to be pulled, and driving back to the site to complete the job.

the maps, auto suggested fields, and above all the ability to easily use on my phone without an app (in browser).  Being able to change start/due dates is also very convenient.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

it would be really really nice to be able to quickly reference work orders that were recently -closed, -created, - priority! When you receive several WOs a day it would be nice to keep the important/priority ones at the top of the list. When closing or opening a WO it would be nice to quickly go back in case something was forgotten. 
also, it would be nice to have all WOs loaded on ONE PAGE, instead of having to scroll and click expand, scoll and click expand, etc. to see all work orders.

**What do you like best about AkitaBox?**

My previous experience was a frustrating one.  The software required using an older version of windows and was far more challenging to manage than I felt was necessary.  This resulted in poor acceptance by the teaching staff who needed to use it the most.  Akita box makes making requests very simple and the primary tool, an iPad, makes it easy for the M&O department to use the program to document their work.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

So far, I can't identify something I don't like.  Since COVID and wildfires, I have not had time to fully utilize the program myself, which makes me less reliable to claim something isn't good.

**What problems is AkitaBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The one thing I am still working out is renaming the locations according to our common names, such as Classroom 45, Custodial Room, etc.  Really a minimal issue but will make compliance better.  This will also reduce confusion to new users.

The program seems very user friendly. The fields to fill out and complete are easy to follow and understand. I am not an adminstrator for our Akitabox system, but it appears it is easy to create assets and locations to schedule, direct, locate and identify the equipment that we service for any user assigned to our system.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

Inexperienced users of Akitabox that submit work order requests often do not fill out the asset or location of where work needs to be performed. This is obviously in part because they are not familiar with the Akitabox program. Our Akitabox asks for an asset and a room number; there is not a map available on the "submit work request" page if the requester is unfamiliar with room numbers, so unfortunately we will get generic and non-specific work order requests that we have to follow up with.

**Recommendations to others considering AkitaBox:**

Akitabox is a very good program to use for preventative and reactive maintenance needs for our facilities. I would recommend Akitabox to anyone looking to track maintenance costs and labor hours for varying facilities or equipment.

We have found it easier to identify what equipment in our facilities are being worked on or repaired the most - this allows us to budget time for repairs or maintenance and also whether it's better in the long run to replace equipment that requires a lot of attention.

The ability to pinpoint which rooms, classrooms, or grounds that require maintenance, repaired or removed is one of the best features of this platform. I also appreciate that I can request a particular department to perform said request.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

I have not come across anything that I dislike or which causes me to have issues within the program itself.  The one item that could use some improvement may be modifying the request after it's been closed.

AkitaBox has solved many issues at my school site.  Anytime we need to request service, the platform is available and ready to go, which allows my school district maintenance department the ability to handle our requests in real-time.

We enjoy the ease of use, graphical interface, and multiple modules that Akitabox offers.  Our staff enjoys using the mobile web interface for starting, reviewing and completing work orders.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

Floor plan views would be better if the plans were able to be used better to highlight flooring conditions, space usage or other parameters by being able to fully highlight a room with a certain color based on a selected parameter.  The program currently uses pins to show a room, but a graphical infill of the complete room layout would be a huge advantage!

**What problems is AkitaBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlined work order management and asset documentation.  Assist with our capital planning by having a complete picture of our assets.  In addition, the floor plan based asset pins are beneficial to quickly locate where an asset is and to be able to quickly start a service request if necessary.

The interface can be confusing when referencing apartments vs. apartment buildings. We've had a few miscommunications due to this.

Wait for the app, as well S make sure the assets are all in and accurate.

The customized map feature of Akitabox is truly the best. Knowing where assets are and having a record of maintenance activities overtime is priceless.

**What do you dislike about AkitaBox?**

The UI could use some improvement, but I have no doubt that Akitabox will continue to improve the software over time.

Bottom line, we weren't tracking when things were being repaired. Know we will always know what work was completed and when.

Ease of grouping service requests and assigning them to proper individuals. Plus, tracking service history on maintenance assets.

Interface and navigation could use a refresh. Viewing floor plans can become a bit cluttered at times and attaching photos for service requests has an issue ever now and again.

Keeping track of inspections is the big thing for us!

I enjoy having a map of an extremely large facility at my finger tips.

It can be difficult to maneuver around the site. Older versions were worse, so it shows AkitaBox pays attention and is trying to make adjustments.

AkitaBox greatly increases employee productivity and efficiency by allowing us to streamline visual check processes.

I feel complete with AkitaBox whenever I complete work orders on time. Tracking past work orders is very helpful.

I wouldn't say I like the mobile website version at all. It is sloppy and hard to use.

Record keeping was non existent before. Now we are soaring with the eagles.
