Everything about Aiven has been great to power our company's analytics and has truly been a set-it-and-forget-it piece of our infrastructure. Aiven has been extremely responsive with their support and has been great at working with us to fit to our custom needs. We have had no notable outages in the last 3 years of our partnership together. It is flexibile with the cloud providers allowed and is very cost effective. Would recommend it! I think the thing that could use the most love would be the initial learning curve on how to set custom specifications. At the beginning we had to use settings that weren't well documented to have everything play smoothly, but the support quickly sorted that out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful features are:
- RESTful API integration for managing outside of the console
- Ease of security credentials setup
- High availability

Downsides, though not critical:
- The pricing structure can be a bit confusing to navigate, which may lead to unexpected costs

I very much like the UI, which is user friendly and easy to access and manage Apache Kafka cluster. Personally I also like the terminal tool (avn) , which makes it more smooth to execute different commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My first experience which I like to mention here is the Apache Kafka cluster logs. This is a bit cumbersome to use and scroll in the UI and find a specific date and time details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The update management.. We had an issue with an automatic update breaking our consumer. This was due to the admin being in out of office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Simplicty of connecting it with other services, such as Aiven for Apache Flink.

I have a problem that if kafka is slow or high cpu, my API´s sending to it start timing out.
