## About Lottie
Lottie is an open-source library developed by Airbnb that enables the rendering of Adobe After Effects animations in real time on various platforms, including iOS, Android, and React Native. By converting animations into JSON files using the Bodymovin plugin, Lottie allows developers to integrate complex animations into their applications as effortlessly as adding static images. This approach eliminates the need for extensive manual coding, streamlining the animation implementation process and enhancing user experience. Key Features and Functionality: - Cross-Platform Compatibility: Supports multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, React Native, Web, and Windows, ensuring consistent animation rendering across different devices. - Extensive After Effects Feature Support: Handles a wide range of After Effects features such as solids, shape layers, masks, alpha mattes, trim paths, and dash patterns, allowing for the creation of intricate animations. - Interactive Animations: Enables animations to respond to user interactions, such as gestures and touch inputs, providing a dynamic and engaging user experience. - Efficient Performance: Utilizes vector graphics to ensure animations are lightweight and scalable, leading to faster load times and reduced app size. - Flexible API: Offers a versatile API that supports loading animations over the network, caching frequently used animations, and controlling animation playback, including forward and backward navigation. Primary Value and Problem Solved: Lottie addresses the challenge of incorporating high-quality animations into mobile and web applications without the traditional complexities and resource intensiveness. By bridging the gap between design and development, it empowers designers to create rich animations in After Effects and seamlessly integrate them into applications without requiring developers to manually recreate the animations in code. This not only accelerates the development process but also ensures that the final product closely aligns with the original design vision, enhancing the overall user experience.

  ### 3. Lottie makes websites more creative and interactive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Lottie?**

I like that designers can easily integrate Lottie without the help of the development team. Static websites are boring, but Lottie helps capture user attention. I've used Lottie for my client websites and they all love the animations.

**What do you dislike about Lottie?**

Since I use Lottie with Divi on Wordpress, it's hard to control the Lottie file with the user's actions, such as scroll or click. I think if I use it on a plain HTML website, then I can do this with JS, but it's hard to understand the Lottie file in order to make it interactive.

**What problems is Lottie solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making plain websites more fun and interactive! Working at an agency, one big thing we need is to stand out from other agency projects and Lottie helps with that. It's easy to find a nice Lottie animation on Lottiefiles and changing the colors if needed, then integrating it onto the website.

  ### 4. Lottie for UX/UX Design (Figma)

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angil T. | Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Lottie?**

I love that Lottie has such a large variety of unique animations, that really make your designs stand out. They're easy to search for, implement, and customize which is nice!

**What do you dislike about Lottie?**

Every time I try to load a Lottie animation into my Figma file, it comes out super blurry. It doesn't matter how much I optimize the file or what plugin I use on Figma, it's just not very crisp which sucks.

**What problems is Lottie solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not a motion designer, and even though I could learn quickly, using Lottie saves tons of time for us to be able to add moments of delight with animation through Lottie.
