**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido was quick and easy to deploy and delivers clear, relevant alerts without adding complexity. It connects multiple security tools, making them seamless and more efficient to use.
It has all the necessary integrations, covers key security needs like SAST, container, and infrastructure scans and the auto-triage with intelligent silencing is a game changer. The UI is intuitive, support has been extremely responsive, and pricing is fair. I also appreciate their participation in the open-source community.
Overall, it helps us stay ahead of security issues with minimal effort.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

If I had to find something, it would be that the interface has many layers due to the amount of information available, and sometimes one can feel a bit lost navigating it.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps catch vulnerabilities early, reducing security risks before they reach production.
By acting as the glue between different security tools, it simplifies the workflow and ensures that findings are centralized. The auto-triage and intelligent silencing features reduce noise, allowing us to focus on what truly matters.

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido helps us automate both compliance and security. Without Aikido we'd be spending alot more time setting up tooling to have a similar experience.
It's great feeling in the team that Aikido is running in the back making sure we have no oversights in security measurements ranging from infrastructure to dependencies.

The team is very responsive on feedback and iterates very quickly

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

There is nothing I dislike about Aikido, it's simple and intuitive.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido is helping us stay compliant through automated security scanning. Allowing us to increase pace and deliver quality software without increasing our exposure to security related risks.

 ### 4. Pretty thorough and good analysis

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

I wish it integrated with our database provider (Supabase) but I hear it was shared with the product team to add it to the roadmap.

Customers at larger companies require strong security posture.

 ### 6. Easy setup and integration. Also the support it exceptional good.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

It integrates with all of our used services and scans for security problems and best practicies flawlesly. Also the provided rescources on how to fix the issue are really helpful. We also integrated Aikido in our Slack so we get notified immediatly when new issues pop up.
Setting everything up was very easy and the provided guides are up to date. Support is super fast and was able to answer all my questions in a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

I honestly can not say anything negative about the service. You could discuss about the pricing but the functionality that is provided and the ease of use is totally worth it.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a startup you don't have the rescources and time to look at every aspect of security when building your software. Aikido helps us to identify sucurity issues before we would deploy them and consanty monitors for new threads that might arise.

 ### 7. Aikido has become our main source of information for actionable security concerns

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cornelius S. | VP of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido provides a comprehensive solution for monitoring and managing security issues across source code, dependencies, containers, and infrastructure. It’s incredibly easy to set up, and their customer support is highly responsive via Slack. Our engineering team relies on Aikido daily to triage new potential threats, and its integration with Linear helps streamline our development process.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The user interface is becoming somewhat complex and requires some time to get accustomed to.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido has significantly enhanced our security posture by providing a unified platform to manage and mitigate risks, ultimately saving time and reducing friction in our development pipeline.

 ### 8. Excellent experience using Aikido SAST

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

I primarily deal with cybersecurity from a macro level (GRC) and rarely need to delve into any Dev/Ops testing. The Aikido application easily enabled me to test multiple java programs for a client and provide constructive results for remediation.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The reporting could be better. This may have been the version that I had but it was rather limited in the ability to download/create any custom reports.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a current security posture/hygiene for a client

 ### 9. A Game Changer in Cybersecurity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

We’ve been using Aikido Security for several months now, and I can confidently say that it has transformed how we manage and mitigate security risks within our organization. From day one, the onboarding process was seamless, and the platform’s intuitive interface made it incredibly easy to integrate with our existing infrastructure.

What truly sets Aikido apart is its proactive approach to comprehensive coverage. The real-time alerts give us a clear advantage, helping us stay ahead of potential security issues. Their support team is also top-notch. Whenever we had a question or needed assistance, their response was swift and thorough.

If you’re looking for a comprehensive, reliable, and forward-thinking security solution, I highly recommend Aikido Security. It’s a game changer for any organization serious about their security.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

One minor frustration is with the platform’s user interface. While it’s generally user-friendly, some of the more advanced features are buried deep within the interface, making them harder to access without a bit of digging. This could be streamlined to save time for users who need to manage multiple tasks quickly.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido Security has helped us tackle some of the most critical cybersecurity challenges. One of the biggest problems it solves is identifying vulnerabilities across our systems and the all in one approach toward cyber security.

**Official Response from Michiel Denis:**

> Hi there – Thanks a lot for taking the time to leave us these kind words! When it comes to any feedback you have about our UI, do you mind telling us (per email or over direct chat) which of the advanced features you're referring to? We're happy to take a look and see if we can improve the experience for everyone!

Our dev team loves the self-serve approach on Aikido.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

PR Auto fixes are sometimes not as good as they could be.

**Official Response from Michiel Denis:**

> Hey there – Thanks for leaving us a review! Glad to hear you like our free version, it's here to stay and we keep adding new functionalities to it on an ongoing basis. I'd be very curious to learn which issues you're experiencing with Autofix – do you mind dropping us a line through our chat function, or via hello@aikido.dev and referencing G2?

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

I really like how Aikido helps you rise your awareness about the state of your apps or websites. WIthout it, you rarely delve deep into the current state of your security, leaving you vurnerable at times.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

I think, it might make you paranaoid at times. I caught my myself watching the dashboard very often.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me automate the security audit of my apps

 ### 12. Fully satisfied with the great experience

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Pricing and featyure aasdasdadasdasdasdasd

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our DevSecOps pipeline is now strong and only clean code is moved to production. continous assessment and optimal developer time unitlization.

 ### 14. Swiss army knife for security teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido is a highly scalable and easy to use solution, which aggregates multiple controls in one place and integrates seamlessly with IDEs and CI/CD pipelines. The support team is responsive and made quick adjustments in our environment. Additionally, it efficiently filters out obvious false positive alerts, which saved us many MD.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The only disadvantage I see is that SSO is available only in the Pro plan. As a security solution which well understands the benefits of SSO, it's a pity that it's not available to all (paid) plans.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aggregates a lot of security controls under the one interface.

**Official Response from Michiel Denis:**

> Hi there – Love reading you enjoy our IDE and CI/CD integrations and considering us your swiss army knife! On the SSO integration, do you mind sending us a chat/email? Let's see if we can enable this for you.

 ### 15. Scan Github repo in realtime for security issues/improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Printing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido is very easy to implement, in less then 10 minutes we had our first report.
The reports are very to the point while mentioning all the necessary information so our devs can easily plan and update the system.
We contacted support for one minor issue and got a reply in less then 4hours.

Today we use Aikido at least once a week to check if there are any new improvements to be made.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Price is higher then I would like it to be.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scanning for security vulnerabilities for our online applications.

 ### 16. A promising new AppSec tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yohann B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Our organization implemented Aikido as our main Application Security app to take care of SCA, SAST, Container/Secret Scanning within our code base. Overall, we are very happy with Aikido's performance and ease of use. The deployment was quick and easy thanks to the Bitbucket Cloud integration.

I think the game changing features of Aikido is the auto-ignore capability and the reachability analysis. It helps our development team save time triaging false positives as well as prioritising issues that need to be addressed quickly.

The support we have received from the Aikido team has been top notch.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

While Aikido has proven to be a valuable tool for us, there are some features that are missing or could be improved. Since we are a small security team, we rely a lot on automation via REST API. For example, the REST API is missing some functionalities where it is not possible at the moment to ignore/snooze/adjust severity of an issue.

The output from the REST/CI API when retrieving details about an issue could have more information (line of code vulnerable, description of the issue, teams responsible, etc...).

However, despite those minor functionalities missing, the team at Aikido has been amazing at implementing new features in record time when we have identified gaps.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido is helping us with our application security program by assisting our developers found vulnerabilities in our code base and remediate them. The true power of Aikido lies in its ability to auto ignore false positives and therefore save us time to focus on the real issues.

**Official Response from Michiel Denis:**

> Hey Yohann – I appreciate your feedback on Aikido! Glad to hear we've been able to support you and the team well in your AppSec journey.

On our API, we're continuously shipping updates and improvements to our product. If you feel like you're still missing anything, don't hesitate to drop us a line through chat or email and we'll look into it!

 ### 17. Excellent Security Software & Company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

We were looking for a cheaper alternative to Snyk and Aikido fills that role fantastically. Good software, easy UI and most important of all very easy to talk to with feedback.

Everything was really simple to set-up and onboarding of team members a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Would like better integrations with Atlassian Platform (for Teams) and Atlassian Compass (for developer metrics and scorecards)

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving confidence in the security of our applications. A way of advertising to customers that security is taken seriously.

 ### 18. Simple security scanning that just works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erwin R. | Clojure Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido integrates various open source security tools like Trivy and zaproxy in one simple to use dashboard where false positives and duplicates are removed. The team responds quickly on inquiries and explains clearly why certain findings are not shown. We are very happy that we do not have to integrate all these tools ourselves, that security experts do that work for us.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The UI is sometimes a bit wobbly (if you click a checkbox sometimes the page jumps and some UX flows could improve), but I expect this to improve once Aikido becomes more established.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adhering to the security standards of ISO-27001. Knowing where vulnerabilities are and how we can fix them.

 ### 19. Effective and fair priced solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Compared to well known competitors like Snyk, Aikido is much more affordable, more complete and most importantly much better at presenting the vulnerabilities that are actually reaching your systems. They use many popular open source libraries to scan your code, as well as propriatary ones, giving you a good mix

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

At this moment I have no things I dislike

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clear and central view on important vulnerabilities

 ### 20. Aikido is the perfect SaaS tool to manage our security

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

They bundle a bunch of scanning techniques into their offering makes it quite effortless to check the security of our entire stack.
They are very responsive and client oriented.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Setting up from scratch would be easier of bulk actions were support in the UI.
It would also be great to set it up from code instead of clicking about in the interface.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It centralizes all findings which gives a good general overview of our security posture.
It also makes suggestions and auto-ignores irrelevant findings, making it more efficient than the other tools out there.

 ### 21. Nice security tool which does everything for the right price.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

It has everything from cloud scanning to repository scanning, licence management, container scanning, etc.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Each repository needs to have a workspace and users. The workspace should not be tied to the repository.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is all in one tool, which is very useful.

**Official Response from Michiel Denis:**

> Hi there – Thanks for leaving us a review! Regarding the problem you're experiencing with the workspace/repository setup: there's a chance your configuration might not be set up properly as you shouldn't have to deal with this issue. We're happy to help get this sorted for you! Do you mind dropping us a line through Slack/Teams?

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

The setup was really quick and the app immediately delivered usefull insight.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The price could be a deal breaker for small companies.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Immediate detection of security issues that could be leaked by dev.

 ### 30. A wonderful security tool loved by engineers and developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido allowed us to implement a security by design process smoothly and quickly. My team loves the integration with Jira and how it feels a tool tailored on their needs of engineers (not security experts), no less and no more. Working with Aikido's team has been great, both in supporting us in the selection process and receiving our feedback - many times resulting is a rapid development of new features!
Given the affordable price for me it's a not brainer for any small-medium sized company

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

My experience with Aikido has been positive for the most part.
There are few UX/UI tweaks that we had to overcome, but nothing major or that made us rethink of our choice.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a tool to easily identify vulnerabilities in our repositories; Aikido is not only doing it, but it has also become a key component of our secuirty by design process.

 ### 31. Out-of-the box instant security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pieter S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido Security is very easy to setup and delivers its first results in mere minutes. It combines all the essential security scanning such as repo scanning, cloud security, credential leakage, ... in one package that's easy to use by any development team.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Initially we were missing some features and support for code languages. But since this is a product that is rapidely evolving these we're quickly added and since then we haven't had any real dislikes.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido provides an all-in-one security vulnerability scanner that offers a wide range of support for different security domains. This allows us to streamline our security proces, discover and treat issues a lot faster and gives us one overview of our security posture. It does all of this at a price setting that is affordable for SMB's while giving access to a lot of features that are most commenly found in enterprise plans.

 ### 32. Aikido makes security accessible & easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajdin L. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido is primarily based on already available tools, making it feasible to replicate the basic technical functionalities it offers. This means they aren't introducing any novel security scanning features. They're also very open about this by providing some references to how and with which tool a certain finding was found.

For our specific use case, I believe Aikido's strength lies in other areas, mostly addressing false positives and providing an easy to use platform to have a full understanding of your security situation.

Addressing false positives is accomplished by considering factors such as the environment (dev/prod) and whether the vulnerable function or feature is present in your code base. If we were to develop our own security tools using CI/CD pipelines or something comparable, we'd be stuck with numerous false alerts each week, necessitating manual review.

As previously mentioned, replicating the basic technical features Aikido provides is possible. While it would be a resource-intensive and tedious task, it's certainly achievable (which we started doing at some point before we started using Aikido). However, one challenging aspect to replicate is the capability to integrate various security tools into a single platform/interface, catered to both management and technical personnel.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

We've only been using the tool for a couple of months so our experience is very limited but I do find myself going through the suppressed findings more often than I would like to admit to ensure it's not suppressing anything it shouldn't. So far, my findings here were limited.

Also, we run a heavy Java backend and the support there is still very limited. The team has let me know that they are already working on it so I'm curious how that will turn out.

We've also had some issues with their Github Action (timeouts mostly) and the team was very helpful in fixing these issues within a business day most of the time.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool was initially implemented to meet some ISO standards. We already did some (manual) periodic scanning ourselves but Aikido was a great addition since it did the scanning automatically, more frequently and it would provide the necessary reporting to management and auditors.

 ### 33. Aikido is on a promising trajectory and leaves me optimistic about its future.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan V. | (Embedded) Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

In an age where security vulnerabilities are rampant, it's crucial to equip your software development lifecycle with a comprehensive set of tools that can cover every aspect of security. Recently, I had the opportunity to try Aikido, which brings together a multitude of features under one roof.

As a user of this security tool, I've found the Open Source Dependency Scanning (SCA), Static Code Analysis, Open Source License Scanning, and Malware Detection in Dependencies to be an integral part of my development workflow. The SCA keeps me worry-free about vulnerabilities, and I love how the Static Code Analysis catches issues before they even reach the main code. The license scanning has saved me a lot of headaches, letting me know if there are any hidden dangers in the licenses I'm using. And the Malware Detection? It’s like having a silent guardian watching over my code, ensuring nothing malicious sneaks in.

All these features feel well-thought-out and designed with a developer like me in mind. It's not just about security; it's about peace of mind, knowing that my work is safe and sound. It's been a great experience, and I wouldn't want to code without these tools by my side.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

It's clear that the tool is on a promising trajectory, and I'm genuinely excited about what's to come. The information provided about detected issues is precise and insightful, making me feel secure in those areas. However, I sometimes wonder if there might be hidden issues not yet brought to light. Despite this concern, I have confidence in the team behind the tool, and I firmly believe that any potential gaps will be addressed in future updates. I'm keeping a close eye on its progress and remain optimistic that this tool will continue to evolve into an even more essential part of my security toolkit.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a developer, Aikido has been instrumental in transforming the way I handle third-party code within our projects. With an ever-present need to comply with ISO certification requirements, the tool's capabilities in detecting and reporting vulnerabilities in third-party code have been nothing short of a lifeline.

Before Aikido, the process was time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring meticulous manual checks that were prone to human error.

Now, Aikido takes care of this critical aspect with efficiency and precision, allowing me to focus on what I do best: creating and innovating.

The tool not only ensures that our code adheres to the stringent standards required for ISO certification but also saves an enormous amount of time that was once spent in the cumbersome process of vulnerability detection.
It's a game-changer in our workflow, delivering both compliance and convenience.

 ### 34. Direct Insights on Vulnerability Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido Security stands out for its ability to deliver comprehensive, actionable security insights in a user-friendly manner. I was impressed with how quickly and seamlessly it could integrate into existing BitBucket, GitLab and GitHub repositories, and the simplicity of connecting our cloud environment (Google Cloud in this case) was commendable. One of the strongest points about Aikido is its ability to cut through the noise and deliver important, actionable vulnerabilities instead of flooding you with trivial issues or false positives.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

While Aikido performs impressively, there's some room for improvement, particularly in detailing their reports. For instance, pointing out specifics in the case of large cloud infrastructures would be very helpful.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The broad range of checks that Aikido covers, from package vulnerabilities and committed secrets to security headers and vulnerable libraries, truly sets it apart from its competitors. Moreover, the platform's cloud scanning is extremely useful and gives you confidence that you're not overlooking any security missteps when setting up infrastructure or doing maintenance.
Aikido also offers code and cloud security in one tool, which was a game changer for us, eliminating the need for multiple tools. The automated reporting is another powerful feature that helps with ISO27001, SOC2 certification, making it a value-added component in our security toolkit.

 ### 35. Comprehensive platform to scan your repositories and cloud for vulnerabilities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hans O. | Co-founder/CTO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

It's was super easy to connect our GitHub organization and cloud environment (AWS in our case).

After connecting, Aikido immediately starts to scan them and give you a list of potential issues/vulnerabilities to check. The checks are very broad: package vulnerabilities, committed secrets, security headers web server, vulnerable libraries in containers, ...

Before Aikido we used GitHub's security issues but in most cases the vulnerable packages are dev dependencies and thus not used in production. Aikido skips through that noise and provides us with actionable vulnerabilities.

I really like the Cloud scanning because it's easy to make mistakes with setting up infrastructure (also when doing maintenance or upgrades).

Being able to see the issues/vulnerabilities in one list (compared to GitHub) is also very useful.

As CTO, it's should be nobrainer to adopt a platform like Aikido. A data leak or hack might put you out of business.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Apart from the great Slack integration, I would love to be able to receive notifications via email.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scanning for vulnerabilities, cutting through noise of dev dependencies, scanning our cloud infrastructure, being able to see issues/vulnerabilties in one list across multiple repositories, ... to keep our product secure and save us time.

 ### 36. easy setup, usefull notifications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido provides the easiest setup of any of such tools that I have tested so far. I was using it with the Gitlab integration and it recognized all of our repositories. The security warnings it provides are almost always correct and invalid warnings can easily be muted and it learns from this. It even found issues that our previous software could not find.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

A few times it falsly reported test data as leaked credentials. To be fair though, the data indeed looked like that.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido ensures that our software is delivered with latest security fixes and as free of potential security issues as possible. Hence, our developers need to spend less time working on tracking vulnerabilities in external (and internal) dependencies.

 ### 37. Accessible & affordable security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Their transparancy, ease of use, they're improving their tool all the time.
Affordable price with stellar results. Typical competitors have steep pricing that scales with the number of repo's / number of instances running.
Aikido helps us stay ahead of the curve. It educates us about possible liabilities, and it engages the whole engineering team.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Nothing really, there can be minor UX quirks from time to time but nothing that deminishes it's value.
Big fan and encourage any company (especially start-ups) to get this tool. It's a no-brainer to me

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying ahead of security liabilities instead of reactive.
It also educates us (the whole engineering team) so in a way they're making us better engineers as well

 ### 38. You don't know you needed it, till you use it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonas S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

As your team, and the complexity of your app scales and changes, you find yourself not able to maintain oversight into all the different security aspects of your codebase. Tools that you get from Cloud providers and Github (bots) are powerful, but provide yet another signal of noise, are all distributed and all only are relevant to a specific aspect of your application security. Other DiY tools to monitor specific aspects all take time to setup and maintain. Aikido is quickly setup and nicely packages up this information in a cohesive way, providing this and the tools to comb through them.

It's nice that it can also be run in CI, so that you can catch things early and integrates nicely with Vanta to help in the efforts related to compliancy.

There's a lot to like, the platform is still young, but Aikido is pushing out new features quite rapidly.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

It's already able to provide information and report on a lot of the more common security aspects, as well as IaC, CSPM, DAST,... analysis. But it certainly does not give a complete overview yet. To get a more cohesive plaform, it would be nice to also get more information into the security aspect of an active deployment rather than just the codebase and the images. The recently released DAST scans are already a good addition to that.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido helps us to stay on top of our security issues while eliminating some of the overhead of false positives. It also helps us and made it easy for us in order to become ISO ISO27001 compliant.

 ### 39. A developer first security platform that enables your business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Our teams have been able to quickly deploy and get value out of Aikido where our previous solution was noisey and cumbersome. The fact that we get all the code coverage we need with SAST+, SCA, IaC, Secrets Detection, Licensing, etc. all in one product is amazing and makes it easy for our engineering teams to see problem areas and fix them quickly. The other major feature of auto-triage has been such a time saver for our teams, telling us if we are actually using those libraries or certain modules in libraries and excluding them if they aren't relevant is so huge for us. This enables our business to focus on fixing critical issues, ignoring irrelevant ones and delivering product to our customers.

Lastly I'd just call out the speed of development/features we are seeing in Aikido. The team fixes bugs quickly, is executing on their roadmap and they are always open to feedback.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Aikido is still very new in the space so they don't have some more of the advanced reporting features that more mature products currently have. We have been giving feedback in this space and are excited with what they have coming down the pipe.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a HITRUST compliant organization so we need to meet stringent controls around our SDLC including SAST, Secrets, SCA, etc. Aikido helps us meet all of those controls we have around code in a single platform that is simplistic for our teams to use.

 ### 40. All in one security tool for companies that value their technology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrice G. | Ceo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

* Both code and cloud security in one tool, in the past we would need multiple tools for this.
* Extremely easy to set-up, connection to your cloud components and repositories was done in a couple of minutes and super straightforward thanks to their great ux.
* With aikido you can really make security one of your USPs with their integrated automated reporting solution which helps for ISO27001, soc2 certification

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

* They generate great security reports but they sometimes miss important details. Our cloud infrastructure is rather large and that it sometimes says instance does not have X, but it doesn't specify which instance it is. Adding more detail will help save time in finding what the problem is.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easiest system to find important security problems in both our application as our cloud components and limiting false positives to a minimum.
First platform that can easily give you a first insight in what to do for ISO27001 certification without having to pay big license fees.

 ### 41. Easy to use code security platform with quick integration into Git repositories

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

I highly appreciate Aikido Security due to its clear user experience, enabling you to quickly identify and track security issues. With just a few clicks, you can seamlessly integrate it into your existing GitLab repositories and get started. One of the standout features for me is its communication of newly emerged security concerns through multiple channels, including email updates.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

Overall, I had a good experience with the platform. For very complex security issues, I still think it's important to review code manually as well, but they keep adding new features for security detection that reduce that manual work.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Aikido Security platform helped us to obtain an overview of vulnerable dependencies and easily identify non-compliant software licenses in third-party packages much faster without the hassle of doing complex configruations first.

 ### 42. I love that Aikido makes IT security more accessible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin P. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Knowing how well your software is secured has not always been easy in the past, but Aikido solves this in a very accessible way.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

I would find it convenient should the tool not only scan the code, but also monitor live whether certain endpoints are being abused.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido immediately looks at all the packages you are using and considers whether certain packages are no longer safe to use or have security breaches.

 ### 43. Best developer-centric security platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gertjan D. | Co-founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Aikido has been instrumental in keeping our application secure. The platform integrates smoothly with popular CI/CD pipelines and other security tools, facilitating a more streamlined vulnerability management process.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

The platform has great features and integrations. A deeper Slack integration with a weekly digest would be helpful.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aikido has helped us with managing vulnerabilities and keeping our codebase secure, so our developers can spend time in other areas and deliver value to our customers.

 ### 44. Useful testing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Aikido Security?**

Comprehensive tool! it scans code repositories and clouds which allow you to gain insights of your application as a whole. The reports are very usefull for less technical people as well.

**What do you dislike about Aikido Security?**

There are still some false positives and I am missing a regex based file filter to exculde tests for example.

**What problems is Aikido Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

monitor the security of our applications
