Over the past three years, we have relied on ADP for payroll services, and when we requested their review and investigation into the state’s claim that we owed significant taxes and penalties, their response was abysmal. Every time we contacted customer service, we were met with confusion—representatives never seemed to know what was going on with our case. There was no direct way to communicate with their tax department, and despite repeated assurances that they were “handling it,” they could never provide a timeline or concrete updates. Even after requesting a call back from the tax department or a supervisor, we never received one. It became evident that much of their customer service was outsourced offshore, and communication was often difficult due to language barriers. The lack of accountability and transparency in their process has been incredibly frustrating. Given our experience, we strongly caution other businesses against using ADP for payroll services. Their poor customer service and potential mistakes in tax handling could result in significant financial and administrative headaches. ### 35. We were promised an easy migration with little input, as the ADP team would do all the work. This was so far from the truth. There were lots of clerical mistakes. Some employees didn't get paid. The new timeclock continuously malfunctions and loses clock in times. The Timekeeping app keeps on making mistakes with pay periods. The payroll software keeps changing and making errors in the time period. ADP can't fix a faulty time period in the Timecard section. Was previously with Paychex and the service/tools were much better ### 38. ADP has everything that you need for your small business, including insurance and 401k options. That meant cutting checks, figuring out payroll taxes, garnishments, etc on our own. ADP handles all of that for us and files everything with the state.
