Smart materials are impressive and add unique details to any type of object, in just a few clicks you can preview the final result. The application of textures is intuitive, being able to just drag the material to the object and change it quickly, doing the same until reaching a satisfactory result. In no time you learn to customize your own texture by adding relief and other important properties in just a few clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You need a little experience to export the material to the 3d software and get the expected result. Export presets don't work correctly in some software, a native integration would make the workflow much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used this for some projects, the key point of it is that the models and graphics designed are generated of such high quality and are unbelievably realistic. other than that it is better in things like texturing, rendering, exporting designs, integration with other tools etc than its competitors. Nothing much to dislike though I will point out that new users may get confused because of the all the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Substance Painter is user-friendly and easy to use. As a 3D artist, substance painter is the best option for digital painting and texturing 3D models. The texturing process is very efficient for us, plus it has excellent features. I use substance painter for texturing game assets; I used to bake low poly mesh with High poly, which painter nicely does also provides lots of features to make looks more realistic 3D models. Substance Painter offers free materials, plugins, filters, smart materials, etc., which save time for us, which i like the best. Moreover, it is PBR-based texturing, which means models will be rendered in real-time raytracing, ensuring more realistic textures. Substance Painter can export maps to 8K resolution, which is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The license pricing of Painter is a little bit costly for freshers or newbies, but it is worth giving a shot. Also, for realistic texturing, substance painter is best, but in some cases, like human texturing or skin texturing for animals. Substance painter can be more significant; I mean, for skin texturing, I still use other software for better output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The upside of working with substance painter is its simplicity. It is easy to learn, and even when you are a beginner, you can easily and quickly start modeling your models. Another great feature of substance painter is its support for multiple platforms, It offers multiple channels that you can configure to export you textures for different platforms. The rendering works with iray and offers good quality rendering of your textured models out of the box. If you need to export specific texture channels it allows you to customise your export to setup the formats you want making it easy for it to support even future modelling platforms that might come through. It would be great to have direct integration between substance painter and 3D modelling platforms like blender to make it faster when exporting from substance painter and importing to blender. There can also b ean improvement on the process of exporting a model from substance painter to formats like fbx and obj. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The substance painter is easy to learn; just like photoshop, you are painting on your 3d models. The most significant benefit of substance painters is their work on real-time renters. I have used substance painter for the past few years. Another most prominent feature is it works on multiple platforms, and we can export our textures on numerous platforms such as vray, Arnold, unreal engine, etc... The smart materials helps my work ever faster and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I work for texturing my hard surface models into realistic by adding details on them, and I'm 100 percent satisfied. I couldn't find any mistakes on substance painter. As a 3d artist, I'm so happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are no cons to describing. There are a lot of features that can be used for texture and also 3d real-time render view.
The entire software is good. There is no doubt about to do for dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Substance painter is an excellent piece of software for adding materials and color to your 3D models. It's resource management for your assets is very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At its core, Substance Painter is clunky. It's very resource-heavy for the average user and can be challenging to work in if the computer's hardware wasn't built for 3D work. Additionally, Adobe's render engine is still terrible. On an average PC or Mac, you can expect long wait times during renders, and you'd better hope you did it right the first time, or you'll be waiting even longer to re-render a project. It's the go-to texturing application at the moment. Fast and userfriendly. Smart-materials and masks makes the texturing process incredibly procedural. With each update, it's getting closer to become industry standard for asset development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations like resolution limit, and no API support which prevents it from being included in complex high-fidelity project pipeline and asset development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
