I am able to texture all my items in one application; the real-time viewport is so unique. Endless artistic possibilities! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you haven’t used photoshop, it can be difficult to navigate this program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My favorite thing about this type of of texture painting application is multi-channel support. So when I paint a texture or surface it not only affects the color of the surface but also glossiness or shininess. This is something I have been looking for quite some time in a 3D color painting program. Also it has material that are drag and drop but still a very sophisticated looking surface. It's practically an industry standard so there's lots of tutorial support from Gnomon and PluralSight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though I'm not found of the texture baking process that goes along with procedural surface painting tools Substance Painter's implementation of the process is straightforward and clear. Quite honestly, once the basic task of getting the Baking or Baked maps done, it's a real fun process to experiment with how they can be manipulated on your objects. This Substance Painter is unmatched when it comes to ease and flexibility in what you can do. I love that I can bring my little creations to life for others to enjoy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do notice it lags a little bit, but I honestly think it is my machine. I'm not quite sure but that would be my only complaint if any Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Substance Painter and Designer have revolutionized the world of texturing the the Game Art world! Not only can you update your materials real time on the object but you can switch to the rendering mode which gives a incredibly quick render of the object which makes even hot garbage look like a Kardashian(or vice versa).
Game engines support, especially Unreal, support the outputs from Substance making the transition from texturing to a real game asset nearly seamless! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The original UI of Substance Painter 1 felt much easier to navigate. It can be difficult during every major upgrade to have the UI switched around. Perhaps a button that allows users to switch their UI to older versions? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's an easy workflow for texturing, offers real-time results and comes included with an amazing rendering software and texture packing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface could use some adjustment. It's a little hard for first timers to get used to everything or even understand what every tool does. I think little descriptions and shortcut tips would be really useful for someone starting off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best is the ability to interactively and live, paint across multiple maps at the same time. The latest upgrade brings a lot of great new features:
New Contextual Toolbar - A useful part of the ui that changes according to what your doing.
A new Dock Toolbar Quick Menu - Allows you more screen space, while keeping menu actions readily available.
Revamped Viewer and Display Settings - Regrouped and organized to take up less space.
Drag and Drop Assets Directly in the Viewport - Just drag and drop the materials from your shelf to your viewport. Among many other updates, like noticeable performance boost, Seam padding, stability, and some content updates.
The price and payment options is literally the best. It allows anyone from multiple walks of life to obtain the software. From monthly - to own plans, to year subscription with perks - to own.
Considering this software has quickly become the standard, they have created a payment plan that is really great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A lot of things I dislike about Painter, but I'm very hopeful for the future as they slowly seem to be addressing them. Like UI and navigational treatments, and smart material usage. I really wish this program was more organized, and with the latest upgrade, they have helped reduce unused ui elements with interactive menus and the like. But as I've said, I'm very hopeful for the future of this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how the realism of PBR textures pop out when I apply simple textures and add details to the layers. I also love how it is easy to navigate like photoshop for 3D. I love how their website allegorithmic has a great tutorial on their youtube channel and has a lot of options to choose from for textures and can download for free. I don't like how substance would require a higher TDI on my computer but I do raise it but makes my pc randomly restart and the problems I had with saving the program and it closing it on me. Im sure I may have to update my PC and some parts to make it run without any harm, but these little cases Im hoping will be fixed in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simulate physical materials in a snap for high fidelity rendered epicness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it were less CPU intensive but it comes with the territory, especially given the flexibility of the toolset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
