**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There is no significant downside, but it does require some education prior to use. Prior knowledge of the general Adobe interface is a definite plus.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Have a general knowledge of the Adobe interface and tools prior to attempting to use this platform.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently using the convert media files for various ad platforms (Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Benefits - quick/easy to use, can be integrated with other Adobe tools such as AfterEffects.

 ### 2. Best Encoder/Transcoder Available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love that Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder talk to each other and that it is super easy and efficient to edit in Premiere Pro and encode/transcode and Media Encoder. The software is easy to use and the best encoding software on the market.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There is nothing that I dislike about the software. Adobe Media Encoder met all of my needs professionally and it is a very reliable product put out there by Adobe. If I were to recommend any encoding software, Adobe Media Encoder would definitely be the one I would recommend.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Encoding and transcoding video files quickly and efficiently.

 ### 3. My Adobe Media Encoder Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Urvesh P. | Freelance Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like how its a universal platform for all my adobe products.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I dislike how you have to have a specific version of it for it to work, for example. lets say I have a project that I need to work on After Effects CC17, it wont allow me to render anything with Media Encoder CC 2018.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Adobe is well definitely on top of what they do, and adobe media encoder makes things so much simpler and effective.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm helping make promo videos, marketing and branding content to get more people to come to our organization. I've seen many benefits. People like the content thats made, especially different kinds of videos thats not been seen before.

 ### 4. Fantastic Encoding Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love how much control it give me for rendering videos. Perfect for exporting drafts, clips for FX team, final edits, etc...

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There really isn’t a lot that I dislike about it...I have had a few render crashes but that might be the computers fault.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Media Encoder CC helps us get videos exported and transcoded for every platform/format that we need. We can export large file sizes for high quality applications and tiny ones for limited capacity projects, it gives us options.

 ### 5. Media Encoder is great for exporting more than one video over time, but it crashes often.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It is great to be able to queue up multiple videos in Encoder at once, and then I can just leave it and continue either in Premiere or other applications I am working in, without having to go back to export each video individually.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder tends to crash about 50% of the time I use it— especially when I queue up an export, and then go back to working in Premiere. Often times, I simply have to queue up one or two videos to export, and then leave the computer completely alone without touching anything else. I always keep the application updated, so it really shouldn't be crashing this much.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Media Encoder is incredibly useful and convenient when it works properly.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Exporting multiple versions of a videos, as well as using Encoder to create proxies in Premiere for smoother editing function.

 ### 6. Creative director

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Very flexible media file saving for any platform - easy to use

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Wish it was more integrated into applications. Other than that love all aspects of product

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

All needs and formats are met with this product

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extending video or animation to any formats quickly for media buys.

 ### 7. Easy to lots of options

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The most useful part of media encoder is the large amount of options and preset var

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The one thing that I don’t like is that it does not output all web formats.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to set up multiple projects to run back.to back.

 ### 8. Well-featured encoder with simple connectivity to Premiere

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that it's simple to create presets that match to my workflows. In addition, the many provided presets end up work well for most circumstances. The integration with Adobe Premiere is solid and makes exporting projects, alone or as a batch, relatively simple. Watch folders works well, although it is not a feature I use very often I like the option of having it. Does a great job of creating lightweight proxy files automatically for Premiere.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It can be slow to load, both cold and when launching from Premiere. Navigating the menus can be cumbersome, but this gets better with time as you learn the product. I would like it if the file size estimation was more accurate; right now there is a little bit of guesswork involved in what the real final size will be.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

This is a well featured encoder and can create just about any output you need and have access the codecs to create. Just take the time to understand the functions and how to utilize settings appropriately.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use media encoder constantly to prep small video edits for client approval and then to prepare finals for digital and broadcast distribution.

 ### 9. Great encoder, compatible with any file format

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Works with all different types of file types that other programs aren't compatible with.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Some functions are overcomplicated. The layout and ease of use could be much simpler.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to output different file formats makes some video files easier to import and use within other programs like premiere and edit smoother and easier.

 ### 10. Saves my life all the time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelby R. | Video Producer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The best feature in Encoder is the mass amounts of videos that it can crank out. You are able to load up as many videos as you want and set each one to encode differently. The encoding process doesn't have to stop when loading in more videos. It's great to have any project from any Adobe product easily open Encoder when directed. I love that you can even remove items from the queue when you catch a mistake in your project.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There are times when it get's buggy but that's nothing too terrible. It can be slow to open at times when you bump it through other programs like Premiere or After Effects. I do wish there was a simple "delete" button to get things out of your queue instead of the minus symbol.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

This is a great solution to those who would like to continue working without having the export slow you down. Encoder is a workhorse, all you exports will load up the queue and you can edit the codec even while its exporting previous items.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Encoder has solved the entire exporting process. I can continue to work in Premiere and After Effects smoothly all the while my videos that are ready, are exporting away in Encoder. It doesn't slow down the other programs in the least bit. You can even move your videos within the queue if you need a certain thing to export first.

 ### 11. Excellent tool, even for beginners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendan C. | Lead Video Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder makes it easy to convert files from nearly any format to nearly any format. It's interface is clear and straightforward and even better- it works with nearly all of the Adobe authoring tools like Premiere and After Effects.

Media encoder can be a lifesaver when it comes to converting lots of files or archiving footage. I use it on a daily basis. It also makes converting files for the web (facebook, Youtube) easy for anyone, not jus the tech savvy.

The best part of Media encoder is the ability to continue rendering while still working in Premiere or other programs. So basically I can render a show, and then go on working on my next show. Saves on downtime.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish there was an easy tool for timecode burn in or extremely lightweight profiles for proxies. I have to still sometimes use Episode because it doesn't have as many options.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Add more options for effects (timecode burn-in/timecode conversion) and other metadata tools.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use media encoder for converting files for the web, sending to clients and exporting from AfterEffects. It also allows us to be rendering while still working on something else in premiere.

 ### 12. Sometimes crashes, but is necessary

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The fact that you can convert any type of video into whatever format you like. You need this program if you have the Adobe Creative Suite

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It is notoriously buggy with updates. When Premiere has an issue sometimes you can't tell if it's Media Encoder or Premiere. So that's annoying. It has crashed on me multiple times during important projects and has prohibited me from getting necessary work done in some cases.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It's necessary most of the time. Export natively if you can to avoid it.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to export video for a wide range of platforms

 ### 13. Adobe Media Encoder CC 2017

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan V. | Senior Editor, Broadcast Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Whereas with adobe premiere pro cc 2017 and after effects there are only so many formats and presets to choose from, media encoder gives many options including older settings. Our company is a PC based production company so encoder allows us to convert .mov files with ease. These files are still in audio sync when rendered.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

-The default interface can be confusing. It is best to create your own work space suited to your needs especially if it is repetitive.
-The loud goat noise if a render failed. It is very obnoxious.
-Takes a lot of computing power.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

-Create your own work space and save it for repetitive tasks.
-Before big renders, do a test render with lower bit rate. If you screw up you won't waste hours of rendering time. Get it right, then do a full HD render.
-Rendering big complex files requires a lot of power. Do not work on major stuff while rendering because your CPU often goes up to 90%+ usage.
-The more ram your computer has the faster things will render. You can also set the amount of ram for adobe products to adjust rendering times.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Converting video
- Converting audio
- More rendering options for old/new presets suited to our tasks.
- Best for targa, png, or jpeg sequences.
- Ability to create custom render settings for ease of export.

 ### 14. Media encoding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anastasia F. | IC, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like this program because it allows me to process, encode and transform media to its desired form. I can also make proxies and change existing format of the file. I am a creative cloud user, so it has a connection with other adobe products to make file integration easier between adobe programs. Media encoder is a tool that is often used to create an easy workflow. Setting up a file transfer session is very easy and depending on conversion, size and quality, encoder creates a very quick file form I need.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

In my experience, I never faced an issue with this program. Any time I used it, it really worked for me and did what I expected it to do. One example I did come across, If a user comes in contact with an error, in most cases it user error. Saving a file to a destination may cause a problem if there is not enough space. Another one is when compression of a file did not go right, and the dimensions of my video came out wrong and I had to compress it again or use a different codec. I do wish when a codec is chosen, it would estimate an end result and what your finished product might look like.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

This is a great program when you are working with media files. i personally used this to make file transferring and encoding easy. It definitely improved my work flow.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When doing file transfers, Media Encoder really speeds up the fork flow. Some files do not send because of their size, so Media Encoder allows us to shrink files down and avoid any data loss or integrity of the file. I personally like this program, I use it in all my projects, especially those that require sending files to other team members.

 ### 15. The Magic Media Manipulator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dwight M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the quick and simple video modifications on the fly. I love the variety of presets and the speed with which one can prepare a video for use on any mobile or desktop format. I also like the easy integration with the other apps within the Creative Suite.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Preset interface sometimes seem confusing/redundant, but that's my only minor complaint within my level of use.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you're a user of the Adobe Creative Suite and you're involved in digital design as we are, this product should suffice for most of your video needs unless you are actually editing beyond simple cropping or shortening.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to quickly edit, crop, reduce or otherwise manipulate client videos for use in online advertising. Mostly simple and easy to use. We need no other video "editing" software for what we do.

 ### 16. Great Encoder Software for Creative Cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's fast and lightweight, offering a wide variety of formats and codecs. You can send a project or file directly from After Effects and Premiere, giving it an edge over other encoders like Compressor and Handbrake. It's very stable and provides many common presets. Creating new presets is a painless process and the app gives you fine grain control over the output settings.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The lack of a few codecs has frustrated me in the past, but there's always an alternative. Sometimes it takes a while for a project sent from After Effects of Premiere to show up in the render queue. I've waited almost 5 minutes for a larger project to appear.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It's a great encoder that plays nicely with Premiere and After Effects. It's fast and easy to use!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast encoding with ease, multiple formats and export options. I can continue working while a render is in progress, saving me lots of time while working.

 ### 17. Best conversion software on the market!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen S. | Multimedia Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the wide variety of formats I'm able to convert using Media Encoder. There are more output options than most if not all other conversion programs on the market today.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Certain formats that are relatively common aren't compatible. It's a little disappointing that such a versatile software sometimes can't handle what should be a pretty simple format.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

It can sometimes take awhile to convert footage (based on the power of your computer mostly), but it is ultimately the best and most convenient conversion software on the market today in my opinion.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use Media Encoder to convert footage from our cameras into the format we use for all our projects.

 ### 18. One stop shop for video conversion

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Having a large range of pre-loaded presets, plus the ability to alter multiple settings, it makes delivering final products to various different platforms a simple process.
Being able to queue multiple exports is a real bonus too and I often let the machine do all the hard work overnight.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It sometimes has random issues talking to other programs like Premiere and After Effects causing programs to crash.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Use it. It's does it's job perfectly.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I deal with a large range of video clips from numerous different sources. Media Encoder allows me convert all my sources into the same containers making post production a much easier process.

 ### 19. An essential piece of software for animation, video

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara H. | Nursery and Preschool Teacher, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder is a pretty essential piece of software to have when working with animation files, video files, gif files - pretty much anything video-related. It has the ability to render big files quickly and with ease. Your output options are clear and concise - very easy to navigate the application.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Honestly- I haven't found much that I'm disliking yet! It has everything that I could really need. Sometimes I guess (I may have just not discovered this option yet), it can take a while to render out all your files because it does them one after another instead of all together.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Encoder has allowed me to output my videos files for a number of platforms- facebook, youtube, instagram, etc.

 ### 20. A very understated encoder!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary M. | Videographer, Broadcast Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the ability to export videos in whatever format you'd like. There are endless controls, Adobe Media Encode really let's the user take full control of the video quality.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There's not much to dislike. I honestly don't have any dislikes.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Each setting has a reason and can greatly affect your output quality.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get to export my videos specific to the customer and the way they want to use it.

 ### 21. Small, fast, powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve K. | Assistant Editor, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Adobe Media Encoder is essential if you work with After Effects or edit in Premiere, but even if you don't, it's still a powerful little media manager. I love having the ability to set watch folders for projects that require a lot of ripping from the internet. And the ability to export from Premiere or After Effects while still being able to work in them is a real time saver.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It would be nice to be able to designate a place for the processed watch clips to go, and it would be great to have a watch folder look at subfolders as well. At my job we increment our assets folders by day, which means setting up a new watch folder each day.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Media Encoder is a must have if you work in Adobe's Creative Cloud.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Media Encoder to export postings for clients, as well as to transcode clips from the internet if we're working on a project sourced from multiple different locations.

 ### 22. Media Encoder Has Lots of Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | Director of Youth Ministries and Fresh Spirit Worship, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

There are many built in presets in the converter. Also can handle most file types I have thrown at it.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It doesn't handle legacy formats as well as those which are more modern.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

This is a great option for people considering a file conversion software. It handles most anything you give it, and with the batch feature you can set up lots of conversions to run overnight. There is a solid integration with After Effects and Premiere Pro as well which makes things pretty seamless.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this program heavily to convert video to web friendly versions. It does a great job and can churn through large files in short order

 ### 23. Great for rendering and conversion

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Motion Graphics Designer, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Allows me to render videos while continuing to work in After Effects (which is impossible if one uses AE's rendering feature). Also great for converting/compressing video files using virtually every codec/format under the sun.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes can take a long time to get going, renders will sometimes fail unexpectedly

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

In my experience, rendering using GPU acceleration works much faster than Software Only, but your mileage may vary depending on your graphics card. Try both methods and see which works better for you.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a motion graphics designer, I need Media Encoder to deliver files to clients who have very specific requirements when it comes to file format, bitrate, codec and audio compression. After Effects' rendering feature does not have nearly as much customization as Media Encoder does.

 ### 24. Great tool for multiple exports and control over video parameters

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lorenzo L. | Freelance Designer and Illustrator, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Program lets you create multiple versions very quickly - full control over lots of different video and audio parameters

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

sometimes breaks when premiere or AE send exports. Unclear why Media Encoder has more codecs and formats available as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Do your research regarding how to best export based on your publishing platform. Adobe forums are good for this.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Publishing video for diverse range of media platforms

 ### 25. Media Encoder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media encoder is a great tool for ingesting, transcoding, creating proxies. One of my favorite things about media encoder is the ability to output multiple different flavors of one sequence at one time. You can also set presets to have it automatically upload to certain video sites, i.e. Youtube and Vimeo.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

One of the only downsides i've found is, potentially, the need to watch a tutorial or two, just to fully understand everything Media Encoder can do for you.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Try to find tips and tricks to be able to fully utilize everything Media Encoder can offer. This can be very useful as well when working in larger companies to utilize their creative clouds team projects features

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to Squeeze, but now that adobe has media encoder, we've used this to transcode media into whatever flavor/deliverable our client needs. It has also made life easier with it's presets, so if we need to output the same video just in different bitrates, it has presets just for that.

 ### 26. Exporting videos made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rayna W. | Freelance Videographer / Video Editor, Translation and Localization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Being able to work on a project in Premiere while simultaneously exporting other videos

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The software sometimes glitches with 4k footage

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to work more efficiently

 ### 27. Adobe Media Encoder is great for a variety of rendering formats

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that you can export videos while still working in your project. this is a huge time saver. It also has just about every format that I need to render out.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes it can make my other programs run just a bit slower.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

it helps a lot with workflow. And sine you have to use it now in after effects and premiere you may as well learn how to utilize it.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greatly improves time management and the ability to export formats that not all programs can do.

 ### 28. Easy and intuitive way to encode

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder is the perfect tool for all things export. I find that especially for social content, Media Encoder is awesome, as it's so easy to export strange or unusual aspect ratios, etc.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Going back and forth to the application, it seems that it recalibrates itself to a default export setting, when it would be nice if it would leave the latest setting you last used, since that is perhaps what you would logically be wanting to use again.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Use this for any large exports you might have multiple specs for. It's very easy to use and lets you get into a lot of detail, and allows you to preview what it will look like in a nice window.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a lot of social content we use media encoder to preview what an export will look like and export out. We also use it for its "watch folder" option - if we are working on rip videos, it's so easy to set up a watch folder and have media encoder converting the videos in the background to the Avid codec in order for fast-import. It frees up your Avid much faster and allows for MUCH better "fast-imports."

 ### 29. Excellent Media Conversion/Outputting Solution - Adobe Media Encoder CC

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick B. | Owner, Marketing & Sales, Logistics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The ease at converting various video and audio formats to be usable on a number of different technologies and platforms.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I have not negative for this product. Very simple to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Excellent Product...

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I received many different types of video and audio files from customers (primarily website customers). They need these files to play correctly online and in various lecture/auditorium presentations. I have not found any file types that Media Encoder will not convert.

 ### 30. Easiest way to convert just about any file!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlese "Shelly" B. | Program Coordinator, EMSA Communications, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The versatility is phenomenal. Converting a file is quick and easy. Render a file and downsize large files without losing resolution.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

For the beginner user, the layout could be a little more simplified.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Great tool within with the Adobe Suite. Easily move between Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop to Adobe Media Encoder without moving thing manually.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Format conversion for video and audio files. The benefits are a quick turnaround of documents for promotional videos.

 ### 31. Great program with lots of options

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean M. | Complaint Analyst, Medical Devices, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that it is very easy to transcode any file to virtually any other file. There are a huge number of options to choose from.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Sometimes the program can take longer than I expect it to, but usually that only happens with particularly large files.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is convenient and saves time to have so many options in one program that integrates well with other Adobe software.

 ### 32. Lots of options for lots of codecs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff D. | Post Production Manager, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Real time preview, ability to choose render engine, lots of pre-loaded options

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Interface is a little cumbersome, not as fast as other encoders. Lacks FLV support which is still something clients request. Also no format for WMV encoding on mac, not a big deal, but would be nice. WIsh it had more film friendly formats like export for a DCP.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are always rendering different formats for web, broadcast, and film. Media Encoder can handles almost everything we can throw at it. It's fast and easy to use. I love how it works with Premiere and After Effects and was a nice change from Apple's compressor.

 ### 33. Helps you convert files into the sizes that you want

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Great resolution, the fact that it can render the video and put it on any screen and be a great quality. I used this to create elevator screens sometimes for companies and they loved the final product!

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's kinda hard to figure out on your own. There are plenty of tutorial videos you can look into, but there are so many things you can do that you figure out over time.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Use this software if you want to be able to make video quality great for any screen or resolution!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to make video files small enough to be on the elevator screens ad big enough for the lobby screens, and both of them had great video quality and perfect rendering!

 ### 34. The one stop shop for encoding video and audio

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diogo V. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's very easy to use. I like the fact that you have a vast list of ready to use presets for encoding to the most common platforms. And the possibility to create your own and save them for later use. It's quite fast and very well linked to the other Adobe video software (Premiere and After Effects). The overlay features are a good plus.
You can keep working and the Encoder will render in the background.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The naming system for the output file project could be more flexible.
Could improve on having more file formats or codecs support.
Could improve on subtitle file support inclusion.
The interface could improve a bit more. The preset list is very extensive and sometimes is too big to navigate. Also it should be easier to save the preset file next to the project so if needed you can recall it later.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Media Encoder is a very handy and robust addition to the Adobe video family. The workflow is very easy and refined.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast rendering, you don't have to stop working just because you need to render a file, project, timeline or composition.
The preset system is very useful because you can personalise the specifics of the project and recall it for later use.

 ### 35. Super User Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I like that this software is extremely user-friendly and efficient. As soon as I finish recording a show, I'm able to open the program quickly and use one of Adobe's templates to encode the video.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

This wouldn't be as user-friendly to a person that doesn't come from a production background.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

As long as you have the hardware that can handle the program, the program should run great.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a quick solution to give client's a file format that they need. It helps out the production team when files are given to us in the incorrect format as well.

 ### 36. Effective but note completely intuitive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben T. | Associate director of economic development and innovation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

How the program converts raw material into finished video files outside the application used to develop the raw materials.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It's hard to understand what settings I should use in a given situations.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating video and animated GIFs for social media and the web.

 ### 37. Great when it works

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Better than the built in exporting tool in Premiere if only because you can continue working while it exports or even close the project or premiere.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Stability is awful. Every update brings new problems and every time I export I cross my fingers hoping it won't crash. This is with a top of the line Mac Pro desktop as well.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can export many projects from premiere and after effects at the same time while working on other projects in the background.

 ### 38. Covert Any File To Any Desired File Type

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Garline D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the fact that I can convert virtually any file format into a flash file and vice versa. Adobe Media Encode also allows you to make any file format compatible with devices, such as Android or Apple. You can also create GIFs and create content that you can easily upload onto Youtube and Vimeo.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It is only somewhat user friendly. If you are new to file formatting, using this Media Encoder may be challenging.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our firm uses this to convert already stored video content into flash files for online e-learning.

 ### 39. Need a quick fix?

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Easy, quick convenience to rewrite and decode media files for use on multiple platforms.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It lacks some functionality and usuabilty. You certainly need to know what you are doing. Not easy for a beginner user or someone not familiar with Adobe applications.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Let this tool work for You! It is a GREAT tool if you work It! It can be your workhorse for decoding file formats all day long!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me be able to use, send and upload media in several formats and I can also make files smaller if needed as well for easier transfer. So many times I am asked for the same file but different file format or smaller size size and I need to do it quickly and on the fly.

 ### 40. Great encoding and transcoding powerhouse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael A. | Audio Engineer/ Editor, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media encoder is the sleekest and most powerful option for encoding and transcoding video and audio in our workflow. The presets are updated on a timely basis, so I've never felt like the program was way behind the times on available presets. Integrates we'll with graphics rendering and makes my life easier.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Some other encoders have "more options" for file types, but most of the ones they don't have I've never needed.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting the right file for the right destination with the best quality.

 ### 41. Fast Encoding to Multiple formats

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Fast encoding, tons of presets, works well with other apps.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Like before, I am not a fan of "renting" software. Rather own the suite

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Don't be afraid to try it. With all media being delivered online, Encoder fits the bill.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast encoding with high quality results

 ### 42. A Convenient Way to Convert Different Formats

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

What I enjoy about Media Encoder is the fact that it's a simple way of converting video formats to suit everyone's needs. The list of possible codecs and formats is always growing, and it's very useful for keeping up with the times in regards to video and post-production.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The program can operate pretty slow from time to time, making it tough to render out time-sensitive projects in a suitable fashion.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Media Encoder to convert video exports to be optimal for online use and broadcast.

 ### 43. A way to make your workflow more easy, quick and simple.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Almu M. | Video & content creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The easy way to use and interact with the program.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Maybe could be more easy if this tool was integrated in premiere and after.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

If you had to work in a project with other people and computers, this is a cool way to share and change archives better.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A quicker way to transform the workflow in a clean and organized space.

 ### 44. Makes Exporting easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noah N. | Videographer, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I can continue using premiere pro without stopping to export.

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Great if you want to render many things one by one. I like the possibility of making presets.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish i could be able to chose the saving place easier. Would like to be able to compress more

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Fantastic, easy to use software. Possibility of making presets.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

short animations that I often convert to email gifs

 ### 46. Encode that media!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I love the speed! Everything encodes so much faster!

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

I wish the connection between it and Premiere was smarter. I.e., having to create import/export presets just to have it show up in premiere.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much, much faster production rates due to saved time.

 ### 47. Media Encoder Is Top Notch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John V. | Assistant Editor, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?**

The best thing I like about Media encoder is that you can throw just about any file at it, and it will convert it to a plethora of different file formats, and it will do it very quickly and efficiently. It has a bunch of customizable options to get you the exact file you're looking for.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

Media Encoder seems to maybe have some trouble in the surround sound audio field. It's confusing when assigning which audio channels to which output. Sometimes all together it will not detect multiple channels therefor will not allow you to export a multi audio channel file. It seems like this should be something that could be improved upon.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Media Encoder is fantastic for encoding H264 MP4 files extremely quickly and efficiently. You can set in and out points as well if you're just needing to encode a section of your video. Great feature!

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A huge benefit is Media Encoder will allow you to export to almost any kind of commercially used file format. This solves the problem of having multiple encoding applications and bouncing between two apps, if we can rely solely on Media Encoder, it simplifies our workflow and allows us to accomplish encoding tasks very quickly.

 ### 48. Media Encoder for Multi-Platform Use

At times there is trial and error required.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:**

Be Patience

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with multiple formats it's essential to have a tool that can convert the same media across all platforms. Encoder does this easily and quickly from the Adobe programs I am already using to create.

 ### 49. A good tool for the video professionals workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert F. | Owner, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

This software is beneficial if you export multiple sequences at once or in multiple resolutions or codecs at once.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We export multiple resolution projects for different platforms (i.e. social media, venues, online platforms) while also being able to continue work in premiere and after effects, which keeps us from bottlenecking our workflow.

 ### 50. Great software! Tons of options, just takes some learning!

**What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?**

It is a bit overwhelming to a first time user. It takes a bit of getting used to. The interface isn’t particularly well organized or user friendly.

**What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The specifications are all there for wherever I plan to upload my video to. Vimeo, YouTube...you name it.
