What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Adobe Media Encoder seamlessly integrates with Premiere Pro and After Effects. Sequences can be exported directly from these programs to Media Encoder for rendering outside of the parent application. Project files can even be opened in Media Encoder bypassing other software, allowing for use on dedicated render servers. Media Encoder supports many-threaded rendering for high-core-count CPUs as well as GPU acceleration for fast exports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

Adobe Media Encoder occasionally suffers from slow performance and crashes when loading sequences directly from project files. This behavior typically does not occur when launching Media Encoder from the export dialog in Premiere Pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:

I would suggest Adobe Media Encoder to users planning to use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, or Adobe CC subscribers who need an encoding solution for exporting projects or transcoding standalone files. Users of other software packages may prefer to use the encoder that comes with their packages instead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Media Encoder is essential to my work as a video editor. It helps me work more efficiently by exporting projects outside of the editing software which allows for a more efficient workflow. It also serves to transcode files for proxy editing or different distribution targets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Includes a wide range of industry standard encoding options for professional use particularly ProRes and Avid DNX codecs. The interface is particularly good with a concise layout that's fairly easy to understand especially compared to some of the other options in the space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

The app's load time can be sluggish depending on how your organization has its network built out. Media Encoder exports out of After Effects can also take a while to load into the software compared to exporting directly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our agency receives requests for all manner of video codec for simple platforms like YouTube & FB to more complex codec requirements for embedded website videos, OTT, and broadcast specs for over the air and cable commercial spots. Adobe Media Encoder is more than up to the task in helping us deliver video content that meets strict requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Video processing and editing is a tedious process. Ever since I discovered Adobe Media Encoder, I no longer worry about having my video in different formats according to what I need. It made my design and editing process time-efficient and convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

Adobe Media Encoder may need to be reviewed especially if you're not familiar with editing tool interfaces. It took me a few tutorials and practices to get a hold of what I could do with the tool. Other than that, it has been a smooth experience and I could not ask for a more supporting tool for my video editing needs! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

It made video hosting convenient and easy for me. A common problem I used to encounter every now and then is to have copies of my video files ready in different file formats to be available on different devices and platforms. Media Encoder made it easily possible for me to solve that problem without having to subscribe to free tools online. Other than that, it gave me a quick solution to compressing my video files whenever I needed it, in just minutes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Getting Media Encoder to render a few videos from AE or Premiere is simple. I usually cue up my videos, add my presets and render. The render engine works as it should and I like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

When there are errors with renders, I sometimes would like to know what the actual reason is, you'll have to view logs for that, instead of just displaying it as a popup Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Media Encoder is the better renderer even though AE and Premiere can render in App, it's best to use a dedicated app for rendering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Once I have my specs and export locations set, exporting seamless. I much prefer using this over exporting from another adobe app.

I love how seamlessly I can hop from Premiere to Encoder simply by selecting to export with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

There isn't much guidance provided about specs to select. With advancements in AI, it would be awesome if Encoder could suggest the best specs / settings when exporting for your case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Media Encoder allows me to export video edits properly, save them in the right place, and do this at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Media Encoder makes exporting videos easy. I can export one video through Encoder while editing another video in Premiere Pro. With an updated computer, Media Encoder will export your videos quickly and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

I have very little to discuss on the dislike section. The only issue I have run into on occasion is videos not exporting properly and sound results in a syncing error. Sometimes Adobe's updates run into compatibility issues with updates on my Mac, but those generally get fixed in no time. It's still exponentially faster to export through Encoder than through Premiere Pro or After Effects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Adobe Media Encoder:

If you're looking to save time on encoding and exporting video, time that you desperately need to work on that other project that's been on the back burner all day, go with Media Encoder. It'll give you that time you need to work on other projects while it writes and exports your media. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Media Encoder takes all of my exporting problems and channels it into a couple of easy buttons. This app allows me to focus on creating quality videos instead of trying to figure out how to make video MP4 capable for a standard widescreen TV, social media platforms, etc. It allows for me to also quickly choose exporting settings optimized for YouTube uploads and social media uploads in both 16x9, 1x1, and 9x16 formats. What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

You can use Adobe Media Encoder to convert your audiovisual files to any format (that is currently supported by the Adobe Creative Cloud suite). This is just one of the many reasons why I continue to subscribe monthly to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Additionally, if you work in robust programs such as Premiere Pro and After Effects, the Adobe Media Encoder is built directly into the programs. So if you want to see how a finished section of your timeline will look, you can set in and out points and render out your clip. This way you can watch it on the big screen to make sure everything is perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

I honestly do not have anything negative to say about the Adobe Media Encoder. An additional free benefit with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite is many of these software programs are included in your membership. Not to mention any time there is a software update, you can update when you want. You are not handcuffed by those "automatic updates." You get to pick when and if you want to install the updates. Plus Adobe tells you what is included in the update. Furthermore, Adobe also releases beta test versions so you can play around to see how the new features will work. Also, Adobe wants to hear from their users to report any bugs or fixes they think of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is an all-in-one package. You can open the program by itself, or use the amazing tools in programs such as Premiere Pro and After Effects. The Media Encoder quickly speeds up your workflow. If you want to render out a portion of your video all you do is set "in" and "out" points, and export that individual clip. If you want to see how a drone video clip will look after you have sped up the clip? Great, create your "in" and "out" points, pick which preset you want to use (SOOOO MANY different video types), and click render. The render pop-up box will tell you roughly how long it will take to render the clip. This way you can work on other things while the Media Encoder does the rest. What do you like best about Adobe Media Encoder?

Does the job, but with hiccups. It works great on smaller projects, and batch conversions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Media Encoder?

The last major update re did the interface. Now instead of a simple interface showing everyhting you needed at once, everything is in a drop down menu, and sometimes you need to go into a drop down menu within a previous dropdown menu. It used to have such a cliean eafy to follow interface, but someone ruined it. Some long renders (progects over over 20 minutes) will have it hang for over an hourwhen the progress bar is at its done. Sometimes pausing and restarting the ender will make it finish, othertimes you ned to restart the project. Its not as efficient as it uesed to be Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Adobe Media Encoder solving and how is that benefiting you?

Renders most of the files in formats that clients need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
