the software is one of the best when it comes to creating el elearning materials, the best thing is that it integrates itself well with existing powerpoint presentation and improve it. the auido and video options are really awesome including the text to speech service provided by neo speech. they also offer a free trial to test the software for a period of 30 days which can be helpful. the program is extremely difficult to learn at the beginning. a newbie would find it really hard to learn the software which will take time unless he's familiar with a previous version of the software. the software is really heavy on small systems and needs a lot of resources to work fluently especially when you're working with video or audio recording. pricing of the software isn't cheap and small organisations won't be able to afford it. captivate won't allow you to edit fonts which is really pathetic. athe interface can be a little simpler and some quick access buttons can really save the time. captioning options in the captivate in really limited which can be frustrating. comparing with other Adobe software the options to resize and edit images is really limited when it comes to captivate. unlike other adobe products you wont be able to edit the interface in the captivate also the integration with other Adobe products are very limited. While I like the cloud features, there is not currently a cloud storage feature with the subscription. Because these projects often take up large amounts of space, it would be helpful to have a storage platform attached. So, though I can use the program at home and at work, it is not a seamless transition. I still must save the files elsewhere to be able to edit them on different machines. I have been using Captivate for quite a few years and I really like the application. I appreciate the ease of use and the new features with Captivate 2017 has made my work-life extremely easy. The application tends to be a bit slow. I would love to have a cloud based version someday. The application does take up a lot of space on a regular PC. I have had a few issues with "fatal errors", but apart from that the application is a must have. I have used other authoring tools and Captivate works the best for me.
