"Very great tool for content creation, make interactive courses."
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I like the way the courses are built to allow for better learner intergration. You add many features compared to other content development items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

It takes a while to learn and be comfortable with, they do provide training but it is not a simple program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Adobe Captivate Review"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I love how specific you can get with the Captivate timeline - how you can either drag and drop the effects' timing or type it in. I also love how many aspects you can group together to make it easy to edit how you want your project to turn out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

The learning curve was big for me when I first started using Captivate, so I utilized several LinkedIn Learning courses to learn the basics of Captivate. Unless you have the time to commit to thoroughly learning this product up-front, you'll probably be frustrated with it while editing your projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Building Software eLearning"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I liked how easy it was to learn how to get started and how powerful it can be once you really get to know it. It has allowed me to create a diverse, engaging set of eLearning for our partners and customers. Novice users can take advantage of an easy to use interface to create actions, while advanced users can execute javascripts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

Sometimes the order in which you would like like to do things is not intuitive. There are some things after you work with it for awhile, you feel it should be able to do, but it can't in a direct manor, you need to find a "hack" to do it. The Mac version is a bit glitchy. "Long time user"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

Ability to create responsive e-learning, which includes Question banks and assessments with full SCORM compliance. I also love the ability to publish content out to Youtube, and the ability to embed vimeo videos. The latest feature I have started to use is the ability to call slides up during a embedded video!. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

Design haven’t changed much over the years. Sometime you just want the ability to create something really simple like a scorm embed of a video, captivate doesn't do this that well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Dinosaur of eLearning Development"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I have been using Captivate since its conception, along with Corel. At the time, Captivate was the leader and maybe the only app for eLearning development. It was difficult to use, very powerful, loaded with features and certainly did the job.

I must have created over 300 eLearning SCORM and MP4 files over 20 years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

I came to dislike Captivate once I began to use other eLearning dev apps. And, as time went along, Adobe never updated or added new features to the app. Still today 2023, we are using a version from 2019.

This factor has lead me to use another app,

I only use Captivate for legacy projects, ones that have Captivate project files as the content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Still a good tool, but getting dated."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

Creating lessons on Captivate is a fairly easy process. It hasn't changed much in several years. So the process can be done quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

The interface and voices are out of date with current technology. AI voices have improved dramatically over the last few years and easy integration of newer voices is not apparent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Adobe Captivate is amazing, it has significantly elevated my eLearning content creation process."
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I have tried many tools previously but none of the tools helped me to create the content which were not only interactive but engaging as well. I like the wide variety of interactive elements it provides. The customization it provides also makes the thing feel as if it is mine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

While Adobe Captivate offers so many features for creating interactive eLearning content, I feel that its learning curve can be a bit steep, especially for those new to eLearning authoring. Although I previously had experience with it, so it didn't impact me much, but some people around me found it a little hard to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An eLearning tool which was a little ahead of it's time"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

The tool was great with its responsive design capabilities, which allowed my projects to be seamlessly viewed on multiple devices. After digging down, one could find more than enough features to create a well-illustrated eLearning module with some in-built knowledge checks and animations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

The tool was a bit challenging to navigate initially and even the learning curve was steep. I also encountered a few performance hiccups and crashes, which have been attributed to my system or the software itself. Lastly, the complexity and pricing made it less appealing for casual users like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Adobe Captivate - Powerful but Quirky"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate?

I love writing advanced actions and what you can do with javascript in Adobe Captivate. I don't know of any other program nearly as powerful. I like the different formats you can publish to also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate?

The thing I dislike about Adobe Captivate is that it is so "Quirky" and by that I mean unstable, unreliable, and sometimes, unusable. I have had problems with Captivate when I upload my files to a server - it won't 'run' like it is supposed to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
