I like the simplicity of configuration and use of Action1. I appreciate the extensive features and the fact that it can be used for free up to 200 devices. Reasons for choosing Action1 over other RMM solutions:

1. Action1 makes automation and patching simple and easy to manage.

2. The remote desktop tool works better than any other RMM platform I’ve used. It connects within seconds, and as long as all firewall/ZTNA rules are in place, there are no issues.

3. Cost is a major factor. As long as you stay under 200 endpoints, the software is free, so there’s no risk in trying it. I recommend it to anyone looking to test an RMM platform.

4. The free version doesn’t include official support, but the community is very responsive and has been able to help with all of our questions.

The only issues I’ve encountered have been related to some functionality that would be ideal for scripts I previously ran in my former RMM solution. I have submitted an enhancement request to include secure secrets/passwords, so they can be passed to scripts during execution. Well, remote desktop don't work because I'm on government proxy and it is not able to go through proxy. At first - last year, action1 deployment agent didn't work because firewall and proxy. Also with some help with their team, I wasn't able to go through, proxy. This year, I tried again, and seems that they updated their deployment agent and it went through proxy. I love how Action1 is easy to deploy and offers a straightforward GUI. The lightning-fast remote control is something I really value, and it's great that it starts pre-logon, allowing us to troubleshoot user endpoints efficiently. I like Action1 for its automatic updates of native and third-party software, which is great for managing patches on my clients' computers. I use Action1 for patch management of our endpoints and appreciate how it finds vulnerabilities in our installed software. I love that it provides the ability to push updates to connected machines for patching. The software is crucial for us to stay compliant with Essential 8 ML2 by patching critical security vulnerabilities within 48 hours. The UI is simple to understand, and the software just works. I enjoy some of the other useful features included, like the detection of USBs plugged in. The interface is intuitive and easy to use once you've spent a reasonable amount of time with it. They have consistently added to and improved the product, and from their published roadmap you can tell they're listening to customer requests.

Support is often rapid to respond, and they've made an effort to connect us to other resources who may be able to help with a problem.

We have had issues where a limited number of agents stop succeeding in running automations, with no obvious reason as to why. The only solution so far has been a full reinstall.

We have also had to work through issues with software that is natively supported in the catalogue, including an incompatibility with one or two apps in our original deployment base.
