"Action1 Makes Patching and Automation Simple—with a Fast, Reliable Remote Desktop"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

Reasons for choosing Action1 over other RMM solutions:

1. Action1 makes automation and patching simple and easy to manage.

2. The remote desktop tool works better than any other RMM platform I’ve used. It connects within seconds, and as long as all firewall/ZTNA rules are in place, there are no issues.

3. Cost is a major factor. As long as you stay under 200 endpoints, the software is free, so there’s no risk in trying it. I recommend it to anyone looking to test an RMM platform.

4. The free version doesn’t include official support, but the community is very responsive and has been able to help with all of our questions.

5. Supports macOS and Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The only issues I’ve encountered have been related to some functionality that would be ideal for scripts I previously ran in my former RMM solution. I have submitted an enhancement request to include secure secrets/passwords, so they can be passed to scripts during execution. I also submitted another enhancement request to allow modification of default behavior for software installations (primarily MSI and EXE parameters). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Easy-to-Use Endpoint Patch Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

Its ease of use, cloud-based management, and comprehensive patch management capabilities. It allows us to centrally manage Windows and third-party application updates without the need for on-premises infrastructure. The free licensing for up to 200 endpoints is highly beneficial for small and medium-sized organizations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The product is easy to use, but I would like to see more advanced reporting, built-in MFA for console access, broader support for Linux/macOS devices, and additional integrations with SIEM and ITSM platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Computer Updates, Hurdles with Proxy Navigation"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

I find that Action1 makes it a lot easier to update my 65 computers across different locations. It has opened up a whole new world for me by automating tasks I used to do manually. The tool allows me to manage updates faster and helps me identify and address security issues that I wasn't aware of before. I enjoy being able to see immediately what is going on with some computers right from my desk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Well, remote desktop don't work because I'm on government proxy and it is not able to go through proxy. At first - last year, action1 deployment agent didn't work because firewall and proxy. Also with some help with their team, I wasn't able to go through, proxy. This year, I tried again, and seems that they updated their deployment agent and it went through proxy. There were some setting in registra (proxy) and in firewall (ports), but I it's all now clear and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect Remote Control Tool with Minor Gaps"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

I love how Action1 is easy to deploy and offers a straightforward GUI. The lightning-fast remote control is something I really value, and it's great that it starts pre-logon, allowing us to troubleshoot user endpoints efficiently. Action1 provides a detailed picture of hardware and software installed, which is vital for compliance. I appreciate the valuable feature of keeping Bitlocker Keys. Also, the remote control as a service is fantastic, and I find the silent software deploy-uninstall feature essential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The remote control lacks the file transfer function and clipboard. That makes the session a bit crippled if we need to transfer files or through code. Sometimes we need to pickup the information from the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Patching with a Clean Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

I like Action1 for its automatic updates of native and third-party software, which is great for managing patches on my clients' computers. I appreciate the clean and fresh interface with a good color scheme, and how the links and functionalities are well placed for easy use and quick accessibility. The API integration is really handy for getting customer reports. Setting up Action1 was very easy; it felt like there was hardly anything involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I find some of the automations a bit tricky to understand. I think it would be great if there were prebuilt templates explaining the automations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Patch Management with a User-Friendly Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

I use Action1 for patch management of our endpoints and appreciate how it finds vulnerabilities in our installed software. I love that it provides the ability to push updates to connected machines for patching. The software is crucial for us to stay compliant with Essential 8 ML2 by patching critical security vulnerabilities within 48 hours. The UI is simple to understand, and the software just works. I enjoy some of the other useful features included, like the detection of USBs plugged in. Transitioning from Intune, I find that Action1 simplifies the process significantly, reducing it to just a couple of buttons. It's also very easy to set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Linux features still have a way to go, like capturing snap applications within their datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid patch and endpoint management at a competitive price, with some intermittent issues"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

The interface is intuitive and easy to use once you've spent a reasonable amount of time with it. They have consistently added to and improved the product, and from their published roadmap you can tell they're listening to customer requests.

It is competitively priced against its competitors while still including the functions that actually mattered to us, and the catalogue of natively supported software was a good fit for our environment.

Support is often rapid to respond, and they've made an effort to connect us to other resources who may be able to help with a problem.

When everything is working as expected, the agent acts more quickly than our previous solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

We have had issues where a limited number of agents stop succeeding in running automations, with no obvious reason as to why. The only solution so far has been a full reinstall.

We have also had to work through issues with software that is natively supported in the catalogue, including an incompatibility with one or two apps in our original deployment base.

Some issues take a fair bit of time to diagnose and resolve, with some are ongoing. It has helped but hasn't been the silver bullet after ~1 year of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Action1: Easy Setup and Daily IT Management Made Simple"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is the IT Solution that our non-profit has been searching for the last three years to find. In a world of complicated solutions that offer way more than you want and none of the features you actually need for a price you can afford, Action1 stands out as my number one choice for several reasons. First, it is easy to use. Implementation was a breeze! Just a simple download and install from the authenticated web portal and you have the client up and running on any machine. I find myself using it daily for many tasks from software updates to remoting in to a PC to assist a user with issues. It allows a single IT support to handle many machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

It would be nice if, when uploading programs for distribution, I could upload multiple files at once. While there are ways to work around this limitation, those workarounds aren’t ideal. It would also be nice if it supported WOL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Deployment and Tailored Management for Public PCs"
5/5
What do you like best about Action1?

Ease of use on the platform and ease of deployment. Also that it can be tailored to the particular needs of public PCs environment like schools. The 200 free endpoints is also a major benefit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

No way to make software automatically install on a PC when you install the agent but that is on the roadmap. Lack of ability to install and manage user only installs, no good way to run scripts as user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
