Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

We are a small organization that had no 3rd party management for patching, software deployment, and Windows patching that we can rely on. Using Action1 has met all of those expectations and allowed us to make our organization safer, and helps us to maintain a secure environment for our users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Getting used to the switches and abilities of Action1 are somewhat intuitive, but there are times when there isn't a way to accomplish something without additional software or powershell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were having intermittent issues with the WSUS server not working as completely as it should along with the 3rd party patching that we don't have to monitor and update manually. We have used the Remote Desktop tools also to allow us management of remote users when they have "fallen off the domain" since the user does not have to be on our network, just the internet. I wish Action1 had the ability to transfer files built in. I am often in need of transfering data to managed devices. It would be nice to push it through while I am connected remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Remote Desktop for access to mobile PCs makes it easier to update and manage. I no longer have to walk to all of the vehicles in my fleet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

For me, being in a SMB space, I love that Action1 is free with full functionality for up to 100 end points. This is a big deal for SMB because software licenses for such patch management software usually is beyong our budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I have yet to find any downsides. The software works as advertised while free for under 100 endpoints. Really cannot beat that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am able to identify risks and patch them with minimal effort on my part. All standard software have packages that I can use to deploy with or update existing softwares. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

So impressed with the ease of use and the functionality of this service, very intuitive to get started with.

Started reviewing our network and found over 1000 vulnerabilities over our workstations. We were under the impression that these machines were all pretty up-to-date but this really helped identify the issues and through the update and deployment features had all the issues resolved much quicker than possible by hand.

Combined with the remote access, I'm using it every day and feel confident things are being updated consistently and can use the reports to prove it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

No complaints !

It would be great if detailed monitoring becomes a feature in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Third party patching, Windows updates, automations. Good workflows and scripting capibilities. We are able to apply patches to any device anywhere they have connectivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Adobe updates are challenging, having the abiltity to close Adobe before an update is applied would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
