Action1 Overview

What is Action1?

Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform that is cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching - AEM’s foundational use case - through peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates costly, time-consuming routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. Trusted by thousands of enterprises managing millions of endpoints globally, Action1 is certified for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The company is founder-led by industry veterans Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who founded Netwrix, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry-leading cybersecurity company.

How do you position yourself against your competitors?

- Unlike many vendors offering patching as a “check-the-box” feature of their larger products, we zero in on patch management.
- We ensure uniform patching across all applications and operating systems, with real-time visibility that minimizes risks.
- Our cloud-native approach covers every endpoint, everywhere, with no bandwidth penalties, thanks to P2P patch distribution.
- First 200 endpoints are free forever: scale up at a simple, transparent, all-inclusive rate.

What do you like best about Action1?

It is an easy-to-use tool for managing a large amount of equipment. We use it for hardware that is often located in temporary locations. This is also where the Powershell comes in very handy for rolling out changes.

Furthermore, all our office equipment is also in the system for easy management and updating remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

It should be nice when we also can manage iOS and Android devices. Then it's really an all-in-one solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

The unattended roll-out, you don't need Teamviewer codes and so on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

The ability to remotely run powershell scripts on the endpoints, if it can be achieved with powershell then it can be completed with Action1.

The easy distribution of the client software to the remote endpoints.

Excellent discord to get solutions and case studies from Action1 staff and existing users.

Integrates 100% with windows 10 & 11

Used every working day to ensure our remote workers and secure and updated at all times.

Implemented within a few minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

So far after using the solution for 8 months nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Previously it was difficult keeping the remote endpoints up to date as the data connection is a mobile WiFi that has a capped connection. We were required to attend 6 monthly meetings to update all devices while the staff were attending the meeting, this involved travel, overnight accommodation and a stable fast internet connection all at an extra cost to the business, we can now do all of the patching remotely and also ensure it is only done when connected to a high speed broadband connection.

We are currently using the free 100 endpoints, but would have no issues paying for the product if we increase our endpoints beyond the current figure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

Easy to install, they provide a free account so you can really test the tool. Action 1 is a fantastic tool in that it will update all your user's machines with no distractions for the users. Earlier, we needed to arrange for off hours time to do updates and a technician needed to contact all machines. Especially when everyone is working remotely, it got even more complicated to schedule the installation of updates. Action 1 also takes care of servers and you can customize which machine you allow Action 1 to take control of updates. The interface is easy to master and work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Action 1 takes care of many different softwares, but, some will still require manual intervention from someone, but they are few, so this is definitely not a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Making sure we do not forget a machine. Also, for urgent patching, this is very helpful since we can deploy them rapidly. We also save a lot of technicien time that can be reinvested in other areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Action1?

I like the ability to schedule udate runs automatically on a schedule that works for my users. I found the process is easy to use and quite intuitive. For a few updates that did not work I found the training sessions really helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The fear that Action 1 will be bought, taken over or assimilated by a larger company and the "down to earth" approach of the customer help is gone and we no longer have a great resource at a very reasonable price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I find the remote desktop function works flawlessly. The users are assurred that their tech support is from our company, rather than others I have tried. It has saved me an immeasurable time deploying patches, updates and notices of successes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
