What do you like best about Actian Zen?

Optimization is very good in PSQL.

It is used in Relational Database much easier .

What do you dislike about Actian Zen?

GUI is not that great.

What is Actian Zen?

Actian Zen is a NoSQL and SQL (fully ANSI compliant) embedded database that runs on Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, macOS, in VMs and Containers with AES 256-bit encryption. Version footprints range from 5MB (client only) to 50 MB (embedded client-server) to 200MB (client-server, SaaS-ready) and support up to 64TB tables. NoETL between versions. Use C/C++/C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Delphi, or Basic and connect to any ODBC/JDBC, ASP.Net source or destination.

Actian Zen database files can be defragmented without any engine down time. Reads and writes can operate continuously during defragmentation. The Defragmenter GUI will detect data files in use and can analyze fragmentation levels of files, allowing users to quickly find the biggest problem first.

What do you like best about Actian Zen?

PSQL is available in Heroku, where I deploy most of the applications, so it's always the database of choice for most applications; it's easy to get familiar with the environment and start working on features like ORDBMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Actian Zen?

A few of the apps I was working upon didn't support PSQL, but they worked fine with MySql; that's the only issue I faced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Actian Zen solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am using PSQL for storing and managing my data; it is compatible with my Mac Os, and in the office, I can run it in Windows as well. Recommendations to others considering Actian Zen:

It's a great database if we need ACID properties to be followed, especially for any Financial Domain application. Were a transaction order needs to be maintained. Moreover, it requires Low maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Actian Zen?

I use PSQL for workstation to server level communications for CYMA Accounting Software and F9 Financial Report Writer. It works well under the right type of environments! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If the slightest change happens in the host environment it can mean your team is shut down on the workstation level. It's a canary. If there is something wrong, it sings... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Psql is the interactive terminal for working with Postgres.

Once connected can easily begin querying the database immediately.
