Acterys Pros and Cons

We implemented last year Acterys as our New Planning Tool in my company. The technology from Acterys together with the Power BI package it gave us an excellent environment for our current and future Planning process.

The Modeller is an awesome tool to create and maintain data models in an easy way and without knowledge of SQL. Planning with the Acterys visuals is a great experience, and constantly new releases are bringing to the end user an experience even better.

It's easy to implement and use and also you have a great customer support, I think we took the right decision going with Acterys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We found out that features were missing when we started working with Acterys, but they tried to cover them with new releases.

Just to give an example, we missed an easy way to create comments with MATRIX gen 2 PBI visual. With one of the releases beginning of 2024 they covered this feature and that was incredibly good.

Acterys helped Urban Energy do build a whole tool for the Company. It allows us to track advancement of the projects, profitability, budgets, AP and AR. They are aggregating datas from a lot of different tools that we are using (QBO, time tracking, Microsoft Project, etc) in one place so we can compare datas and have a live and always updated view of where we stand. The implementation is very smooth and easy and they are answering questions/concerns in no time. It changes the daily operation of the company radically and we saved at least 10hrs/week of manual work. I can not recommend them enough, it's worth the investment. I'm fairly new in using Acterys but I can confidently say that it is user-friendly. In terms of functionality, Acterys helps alleviate the burden of wrangling data. I particularly appreciate how seamless it consolidates and integrates data from various sources. Additionally, I am also impressed by its write-back capability, wherein adjustments are reflected in real-time, thus enhancing planning and analysis for making better data-driven decisions. Acterys is a very user friendly tool that allows its users to navigate it with ease. Anyone who is exposed with data and financials can easily catch-up with the tool's built in features.

From a developer's standpoint:

- You don't need to do too much code when implementing ETL/ELT processes for your organization.

- Acterys is able to connect to most CRM tools and data sources (eg. Xero, Quickbooks, etc.)

- You can implement RLS or PLS with ease!

From an SLT standpoint:

- The writeback feature it provides in Power BI allows you to do FP&A or xP&A in realtime

- Device authentication and IP whitelisting. Acterys makes sure that only you and the people that you trust can have access to your data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As of the moment I don't have any conerns regarding Acterys.

Would love to see more default data sources that Acterys has in store-- currently you have to manually connect data sources not associated with Acterys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our users are already comfortable using Power BI for reporting use cases. Acterys gives us the ability to build out write-back and planning use cases to meet the users where they are. The team is great to work with and is very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The team at Acterys is incredibly responsive to our company's needs. They are able to troubleshoot and provide solutions to many of our data pipeline issues. I really like their FP&A product. I was really impressed with their write-back capability in Power BI. It allows us to make real-time updates directly within our reports, which significantly improves our efficiency and keeps our data current without manual intervention. Additionally, the integration with various data sources, including ERP and accounting systems, makes it incredibly easy to consolidate data and create comprehensive reports. The company I work for needed a Gantt chart that best showed the parent child relationship hierarchy. Acterys Gantt chart was a huge hit with our leadership, and was exactly what they were looking for. When there came time for an urgent need to have the Gantt chart for an important meeting; The Acterys team worked around the clock to support our team to ensure we had it up and running in time. It was not an easy endevor based on the complexity of our system backend- but Acterys really showed up and helped work it all out in time. We were so grateful!
