Features - I've been using Acterys for several years, and they are constantly improving and advancing their product's quality and capability. We don't have extensive database or IT knowledge, but with Acterys, we can easily customize what we need to build models and reports with all of the required data sources.

Ease of use - Acterys Modeller is extremely easy to understand, and the documentation is beneficial and easy to follow. In addition to the Acterys Modeller app, we can use the same tools we use daily in Office 365 to interact with our data to make updates, analyze data, or create reports. The integration with Excel is continuously improving, and the Power BI visuals are straightforward to use after some initial trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is straightforward to go from 0 to 5 with limited database and SQL knowledge, but to fully utilize the platform's capabilities and advanced planning features, more advanced expertise is required. In some instances, the documentation explains how to use a feature but assumes you already know how to set up the backend correctly.

It was easy to implement, with total of three months, including customizing complex writeback for different scenarios in Power BI. The writebacks and the ability to copy paste scenarios save us so much time. Also, the ability to collect real-time data from different sources (Deltek, Salesforce, Bamboo HR, and many more) and create data models for analysis, make the solution extremely powerful tool for our company and support decision making.

The visualization is exceptional. Presenting data in a meaningful and easy to understand way become so effortless, even to someone with no prior experience with Power BI like me.

I can’t think of any. It was challenging at first for non technical users, just like every other new system, but it was a short learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Acterys enables users to do both financial planning and analysis within Power BI. On top of this you could connect to data from a plethora of sorces through cterys or Power BI which makes it a powerfull tool for consolidating all of your financial and non financial data and interacting with it through Power BI and Acterys write back visuals. The product could be a bit complex to understand for non-technical users as might involve understanding of SQL, Power BI and Acterys.

The controls around write-back could be improved as the software does not allow locking periods for editing from the main interface.

Another small issue with the integration with Xero is that whenever a tracking code is renamed in Xero, Acterys creates a duplicate tracking code instead of renaming it. This might be fiddly to sort out as historic budgets remain coded to the old code and actuals could end up split between the two duplicated codes. Acterys is very simple and yet very complex at the same time. It’s intuitive and can be set up with some clear logic and a vision for the output. It has huge potential as I can see how it holds data and rules and then outputs can be built in Power BI to report the data in whatever form/format/visualisation that is required. Our financial information is in Xero and Acterys/Power BI is bringing us visibility of the information accurately and quickly in a way that we haven’t had before.

We’re using a consultant to implement the solution who is doing a fantastic job of understanding our requirements and creating valuable outputs. It’s been a quick and efficient process. I’m not a systems accountant and yet I’m learning how to use Acterys and Power BI quickly and I feel confident that the finance team will be able to embed its use in our day to day tasks. I really like how Acterys works smoothly with other tools like Power BI and Excel. It's made handling financial stuff much easier and more flexible. I’d prefer a push into mobile usability and a refresh of the UI. Some access points and user interfaces lack brand consistency, at times seemingly from different design stages of the company.
