Training is a breeze. And their support is terrific. The consultant who was part of the package did a great job of leading meetings, teaching the client staffers and showing me a thing or two as well. **What do you dislike about Acquia DAM (Widen)?** There were a couple navigational issues that I found to be time consuming. If I had one complaint, it's that our internal email firewall seems to haphazardly block the reset password emails so users often reach out to admins for new passwords. But that's our email firewall, not Widen. **Recommendations to others considering Acquia DAM (Widen):** Be sure your meta-data is cleaned up and in good shape if you are importing. That was the biggest headache for us coming from a system with two decades of archives with poor/useless metadata attached. Having a full-time DAM administrator to cull through old files and make sure everything is still relevant, use=ful and appropriately tagged would be a huge asset as well, but that's just not in the cards for us now. **What problems is Acquia DAM (Widen) solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a system to store large images and video which would allow us to share them across locations and with outside partners. Widen also allows us to host videos and stream directly from the collective which makes version control so much easier. The portals functionality has also opened up a whole new world of content sharing for us on the non-profit side and that has been a huge success. ### 9. The search functionality is great for anyone trying to find content with certain keywords or types. I love Workflow with the versioning and tracking of changes with content development. **What do you dislike about Acquia DAM (Widen)?** I would love more integration capabilities. There are a few basic integrations, but I would love to see more functionality within them. For example, sending Slack notifications to people when a Workflow job is assigned to them would be very beneficial. I would also prefer not to go through a formal request process every time I want to turn on another integration. I would also like the ability to select bulk assets in the DAM to PUSH to an existing portal page. Having all of those varied resources in one digital archive has saved us time when making digital publications and it has freed floor space from all of the old, dusty hard copies of everything. **What do you dislike about Acquia DAM (Widen)?** When we began using the software, all of the images had to be converted to TIFF. That would save them in the best resolution, but it meant that we had to convert many old photos first too, which took a lot of time. They even provide access to their roadmap so you can see what they're working on next and provide feedback. The interface is intuitive and kept up to date aesthetically and functionally. Widen listens to users and adjust their product as needed. Portals allow for tiny basic websites to be created with a subset of assets. This is really useful for users who don't need access to the full site or will only be visiting occasionally. **What do you dislike about Acquia DAM (Widen)?** There are arguably too many admin controls. Fortunately, they walk you through them during onboarding and are always available if a refresher is needed. Onboarding was a little slow early on but I was also coming from an already established DAM and knew what I wanted. **Recommendations to others considering Acquia DAM (Widen):** The support options here are incredible. They care about their users succeeding and come up with inventive ways to ensure it. **What problems is Acquia DAM (Widen) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Widen (and all DAMs) provide a single source of assets for both internal and external users. We primarily use it for photography but Widen will support any file type. Metatdata entry is straightforward and search works fantastic once that metadata has been added. External clients love to pull product photography for their websites and we love it's the correct professionally shot images. I'm not sure what more I could ask for in a DAM, the value surpasses the cost for us. ### 41.
