You can ssearch applications and you can vew installs, but the grouping/tagging to allow you to find all versions of a product isn't quire right **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** When you need to know what hardare assets you have, their hardware configuration, and last stats in terms of resource load and network info makes tracking items down easier ### 2. When I need to freeze a device, I can use absolute to freeze a device. When I need to format a device, I can format a device. When I need to locate a device, I can locate a device. When I would like to report a device stolen, I can report a device stolen. When I need to check that last logged on user for a device, I can check the last logged in user for a device within absolute. When I need to check the recent activity of a device, I can use absolute to check the recent activity on a device. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I really dislike the way that I cant use this system when I need to do something that absolute does not do. When I need to track a device that is off network, I cannot do that with absolute, and its very frustrating. When I would like to retreive a device that gets stolen and shows up in India, I cannot use absolute to retreive the device. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** Consider Absolute when you are considering buying software that does what absolute does **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem I have solved with Absolute is a problem that was basically waiting for a solution like absolute to solve. You can search for devices that are off-network by viewing columns on any asset report related to a device’s IP address. Additionally, you can also create an alert to notify you and others in your organization whenever a device’s IP address changes to one that is not approved or associated with your corporate network. I'm able to have my MECM client monitored and repaired as needed, track asset locations and know the location information is accurate, execute remote scripts often times saving the end user from having to bring their device onsite, and working with all of the Support and Account folks. Anytime I have a question, I can simply open a quick chat with support to get my answer and I have no fears of waiting in a queue for long periods of time. If I feel my request may be a bit lengthy, I'll submit a ticket online and a tech is reaching back out soon after with actionable information, not just a we've received the ticket response. If I've got a feature request, I just email our account team and they take care of putting that request in and making sure the right folks are involved. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** As with most asset tracking systems, I don't like when we have a device go missing I cant send actions until the deivce comes back online. Again thats something we all will deal with. I would like to see more functionality with Mac OS devices in terms of persistance like what I have with Windows without having to use a MDM. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through the use of the Reach Scripts, I've been able to create local user accounts when staff were unable to login due to an expired password or other similar issue and thus unable to connect to our VPN. This save staff from having to send their device in or come onsite which in several cases can be several hundred miles to the nearest corporate office. We're also able to maintain compliance tracking for device enryption and have better knowledge on where our devices are physically. ### 4. In addition, because the software interfaces with the system BIOS (on Windows PCs), the agent will re-install itself and report back even if the operating system is re-installed (Windows only). Absolute also does a good job when we need to remotely lock a computer that is either not connected to our VPN. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** Somebody can bypass the Absolute agent if you wipe a Windows-based computer and instead install Linux. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helped track down multiple Dell laptops that required a particular BIOS update; it helps us determine which assets are currently active and allows us to lock remote laptops for terminated staff. I feel like while lots of laptop developers are accomodating Linux users, quite a few SaaS platforms do not support industry-standard Linux distributions. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were evaluating Absolute as a physical security solution to integrate with our existing IT solutions as, with COVID, more and more folks are working remotely, in addition to folks that were already remote. Our folks do a lot of business travel, and, to be honest, FileVault and Bitlocker aren't enough. Some items are not accurate such as the number of licenses available. It also is difficult to navigate. The console is straightforward to use, the dashboard has good visuals. There are email alerts on everything. Freezing a computer is easy, and there are many preventative measures in place to prevent unauthorized freezing or data deletion. We worked with our vendor on training after we had it installed on a couple of computers. We spent an hour one day a week over three weeks. But getting to that screen got buried under multiple menus and links. It gives our organization peace of mind that sensitive data will not fall into the wrong hands. Additionally, Absolute provides detailed hardware information about a particular device, and even provides information about what software is installed. It is extremely useful as a "One Stop Shop." The report feature is quick and easy, as well. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The search feature could be better. When looking at an asset, the search does not always work, and a user may need to go back to the dashboard to complete their search. The new, upgraded UI has taken some getting used to, specifically when looking for the most recent date a device connected, and I don't feel that it, generally, made the product better, though I can't say it has affected my ability to use the product. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** While it's not necessarily Absolute's number one use, it is easiest way to our organization has to find out which of our users are using which PC, and when they most recently signed on. Knowing where each assets in your environment is at any given time is such a plus. Since 90 percent of our workforce is now working remotely, there are so many more opportunities for an asset to be compromised. We can use Absolute to quickly wipe the device and prevent someone from accessing critical data on the device. Absolute is so ingenious and so light our Clients and our IT department can trust that any data will be 100% protected. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I love the fact that you can also use the agent to deploy software to each client even if they are off the network. What I don't like is that it is an added cost and you have to write scripts to deploy an application. I wish there was an easy way. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of our clients are under Hipaa compliance, being able to show our clients that they can rest assured any asset we have that connects to their networks is 100 percent protected is a huge plus for us. It also shows details of the device, which is crucial to identify the equipment. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** A downside of Absolute is that it does not show an exact location for the device. It only indicates the IP address of the device. The tool works effectively and provides information far and beyond original expectations. The web page is easy to use. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** - Needs improvement on allowing to schedule freeze of laptops on certain date and time. Allow to share custom report query. Need more flexibility regarding report scheduling (i.e. the maximum schedule is 1 month). **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** Overall, Absolute software is an excellent quality product. This product keeps improving and keeps adding great features; we have yet to take advantage of every great feature it offers. Absolute Support is superb, professional, and knowledgeable. The usable feature for us would be the device freeze functionality, as we have multiple turnovers of employees, which allows for remote lock-out devices.
