Abacus made inputting TPN formulas pretty straightforward. Once training was completed it was not difficult to learn how to use the software and make sure it communicated to the compounding machine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was not integrated in the EMR at the time I used it, which meant you were inputting all the TPN ingredients in one place for compounding and then putting the order for patient care in another place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Abacus was one of those to review and we really liked the user interface and overall design of the platform. The program allows TPN compounding with a standard set of ingredients. It’s easy to make adjustments to the ingredient amounts. There is a warning screen to check the calicium and phosphate level, it generates an alert for out of range osmolarity as well. It is easy to add a new patient, the program has inputs for appropriate patient data also. User can have different privileges- administrator settings within the software.
