**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lincoln H. | Student Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2024

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

3D Printer OS has been a good service for managing large scale demand at our university. The printer settings are versatile and offer a good range of features while also being easy to use for the end user. Before even working with the software, I used my universities 3d printers and was happily supprised with how easy it was to slice and que prints.

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

I disliked the inability to fully communicate with end users about their prints, sometimes their files would be missing a base layer or simply too difficult to print (overhangs/thin walls), and they wouldnt pay attention to the cancellation notes and que the job again.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3dPrinterOS allows our organization to comply with the needs of our engineering students remotely. Having pre-sliced prints already in the que withought having to consult with students makes the process much more efficient.

Our school community uses 3D PrinterOS subscription so that all students have the capability of using a cloud slicing system that they are bound to use in the workforce or college communities. It's a versatile tool regardless of the type of 3d printer that is available on campus. It gives our students a consistent interface for current and future use. It is very stable and consistent and always looking for improvements. Their tech team is so helpful with install and making sure that our system works with theirs. Our community uses it for school and personal projects so it gets used weekly. Our students are able to use it easily for any project.

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

I have always enjoyed my interactions with 3DPrinterOS. They are helpful and willing to help us solve issues. Their application really does reflect the needs of the users and shows that they listen.

We needed a way to allow our patrons to submit 3d print jobs, slice them, and get an cost to print them. They helped us design an API that has the workflow we wanted. We have also started using it in a classroom situation to have students submit print jobs to be printed.

  ### 4. A Promising Tool for Print Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J. Alex F. | Makerspace Science Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2024

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

I’ve had a great experience with 3D Printer OS. One of its standout features is the responsiveness of its development team. They are proactive in addressing bugs and are constantly rolling out new features that enhance the overall functionality.

The software excels in managing printer queues, offering seamless control over multiple users and various printers, even when dealing with different brands and types. This versatility and centralized management make it a powerful tool for anyone handling a diverse printer setup, such as in a makerspace or collaborative environment.

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

While the software is under constant development—which is a positive sign of its growth—it still lacks some of the more comprehensive enterprise-grade features that would make it the complete package for larger organizations or high-demand environments. As the platform matures, adding these features will be key to maximizing its potential.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3D Printer OS solves the problem of connecting multiple printers of different manufacturers and multiple different user groups under one central dashboard.

  ### 5. When I came across an amazing project!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno A. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2025

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

The only negative point I could see is that the platform was not very intuitive for new users. The way to add printers remotely is quite complex. With years of experience in networks and peripheral configurations, I had some difficulty.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to create and share materials via the cloud. In addition to connecting me to several partners who always have interesting products.

  ### 6. Upgrading from Prusa3 to MK4S and getting them onto 3DPrinterOS was so seamless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | innovation specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2025

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

It's fantastic for managing students and 3D printers, so easy. On the Prusa 4s you can manage all of them off of a single Raspberry pi making our space much cleaner. And, it just works and if you need help the support team is crazy responsive!!

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

I have trouble with printer profiles and changing default settings a bit, like wanting all my printers to have 65 vs. 60 degrees for the plates.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing many students (all high school) for multiple 3D printers. The students ahve individual projects, class projects and competition projects.

  ### 7. Makes my life easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

3D printer OS allows me to manage our school's 3D printers from my desk. Adding new students is easy, and the permissions system is excellent.

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

I want to be able to assign a preferred slicer for each workgroup. Different workgroups have access to different printers depending on grade, and I'd love to make sure that Group A automatically accesses the Bambu slicer while Group B uses the Prusa Slicer. Our students are young, and they won't remember to change the slicer if they need to.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3D printerOS allows our school to manage the 3D printing needs of our entire school easily and in an organized manner.

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about 3DPrinterOS?**

I like the 3D printing features of this software however I find the system very expensive and difficult to wrap my head around.

**What do you dislike about 3DPrinterOS?**

The system has a very step learning curve and is very difficult to use and implement. I see the costs as way to high to absorb.

**What problems is 3DPrinterOS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system has certainly allowed me to continue 3D printing but on the whole the software is to cumbersome and difficult to use.
