Top Rated 3D Cityplanner Alternatives

A wonderful program to use in the sense that it does not require a professional 3D designer, especially since it creates complete models of cities and large, vast-area plans with details that require tremendous time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think it lacks some of the fine details in making models professionally, but despite that, it is suitable for beginners or even companies that need to make a presentation about some of their work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like most of the software. You just need to further develop it with more and more function
It is very easy to use.
The graphic of the project area is very nice. It's easy to understand the project layout and design even if you are not a specialist.
I like that the generated solutions have also roads, parking and green areas. You need to add the function for the ground parking generator/solver.
The updates you added to your Generate funcion are incredible... Keep up the good work and keep investing in that function. It`s the most valuable part of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- The project can't be exported in a format accepted by BIM softwares. I didn't manage to import the 3D model in Archicad.
- The terrain topography can be modelled so no cut&fill information. For some terrains this is very important.
- The graphic design of the interface (buttons, icons) doesn't follow the current trends in graphic design and looks a little bit like a game interface.
- The report content should be customisable and exportable in a printable version (word/excel/pdf)
- The generate function for unit layout should also have the option for multiple variants.
- No apartment plan solver.
- No area parking solver.
- No environmental analysis (Sunlight, daylight, wind, view analysis, internal daylight anaylis)
- No economic report (building cost/operational cost) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its a great tool to use early on in the planning process. You can quickly visualize how a planned area could look without having to make everything in a 3D modeler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
3D Cityplanner is still in its early phase of development, and this means that its not yet optimized in every aspect. I had some trouble with saving and projects disappearing, which is never fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is wonderful how 3D Cityplanner enables us to display our future projections, as it provides an integrated library that includes many elements that can be installed next to each other so that we can beautifully produce the general view of the project that we are designing. I greatly appreciate the ease with which operations are conducted for the data that we need to study so that we can find the areas and sizes accurately and so that the shape takes up the appropriate space in the design. 3D Cityplanner requires the user to have experience in designing and calculating quantities, and in general, the interface is very intuitive and the cost is reasonable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very feature rich, auto generate layouts, ease of use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overview of data sometimes difficult to find, but I have only just started to use 3D Cityplanner and it will require some more testing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

How you have the freedom of actual creativity, you can design anything you can. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How much power it takes up of the computer running it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I liked the most about 3D Cityplanner is the nice and intuitive interface. But above all, the possibility to add all these interesting and useful layers. Existing buildings, regulations, noise zones, trees, city lights, sun study, you name it and it's there. Essential info to enhance the basic quality of a project in the early design phase. The financial reports and floor area reports are also great tools to check a project's feasibility. And the pricetag is very competetive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love to see a connection between 3D Ciyplanner and the ifc standard. I work with Archicad and my workflow needs to link with Archicad zones, via an updatable ifc export, to the 3D Cityplanner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very cost-effective and easy to use even for new users. Some Automatic object generation features helped me a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing I dislike about 3D Cityplanner as it is very easy to use and cost-effective at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The program is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. It is fun to use. I often played SimCity as a child and it takes me back to that time, and that for school! This allows me to work through it pleasantly and I really enjoy doing it. It is easy to get a financial picture of your plan and there are many options to shape your buildings. There are still many things that can be added. Think of intersections, more props, etc. etc. But I think you are working hard on that. I would appreciate it if a downloadable application could be made instead of a web browser. That works easier. Also, maybe prefabs can be added, such as standard terraced houses. Also, the drawing can be a bit more precise, and the grid sometimes gets on your nerves. But otherwise, it is very good software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The simplicity and the calculating tools. I also find the opportunity to load in the integrated data layers convenient. Modeling 3D buildings goes fast and precise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The possibility to do urban area analysis, such as climatic analysis, water maintenance, solar studies and visibility/exposure studies.
Also, I miss more opportunities to texture buildings and realistic landscaping textures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
