Since it is a AWS managed service, codecommit cannot be used without AWS account. To use AWS codecommit, we should have a AWS account in place which will cost. But still it will cost only in Pay as you use model which is an advantage since the person who use the account will only be charged according to their usage. Having everything in one place or eco-system made my life a lot easier, when working with the AWS stack it means a lot not having multiple tabs or application opened to navigate and manage the project. I used it on a daily basis and it really has everything you need from a version control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times I can't find a certain feature, when in reality it should be easy to do, which means its a bit over complicated for a version control, but of course this can be a matter of getting used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We worked on the ec2 and every time we needed to manage the code on the server. So we easily use the repository in the ec2 server for code mange. And a number of features are available for it. Ease of implementation on the EC2 Engine and Ease of integration. the number of people and frequency of use for creating a repository branch and sub-branch margining the code on the main and backup the source code storages. Nice Dashboard which lists all the code repositories. Creating and Managing pull requests is super easy and they are easy to read to spot the updates in the code. Adding the Comment feature works great and allows to complete the feedback cycle on any pull request created. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The User Interface seems to act a bit buggy at times especially when you have python codes being committed into your repos where indentation is the key. In such cases sometimes the indentation doesn't seem to match which can change the complete sense of the code but experienced developers can get through this pain.
