Use Xampp is very-very helpful as a php developer i have noticed that and I am using xampp last 5 years, weather i am working in windows or ubuntu it works almost all plateform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

nothing i have found in last 5 years my experience on which basis i could say that particular is not good in xampp, I can say that to use individual php, mysql and apache, use xampp in one click all of above.
