I love that it is easy to use for all my PDF requirments. I can open up any PDF I have with it with ease. I also love that when I need help and support, they are just a click away. And to be honest, PDF's are everywhere I totally am constantly using it all day every day. The only real downside I've experienced is that UPDF doesn't currently support JavaScript and/or Markdown functionality in certain advanced documents. As someone who also uses this product as a TTRPG player, this makes it difficult to take advantage of the advanced features some of my 3rd party character sheets have. Des choses simples comme supprimer des parties dont je n'avais pas besoin ou insérer des éléments supplémentaires dont j'avais besoin ou combiner plusieurs documents en une seule source. Je ne comprenais pas pourquoi tant de documents utilisaient ce format, si ce n'est parce qu'ils ne voulaient pas que les utilisateurs modifient leurs documents.

Is UPDF a direct challenger to Adobe Acrobat DC?

First and foremost, it is an excellent PDF viewer. It allows for editing, converting, modifying PDFs, making comments, adding a signature to files, or setting a password… Since it has this competitor, it makes sense that it does everything Acrobat DC does, but better, more easily, and more quickly; this is true, but for everyday use. It is clearly better than Adobe's software, which has recently upset its users by imposing almost a new interface that has convinced no one. For example, modifying a PDF is instantaneous, efficient, simple… not completely cumbersome as we are used to.

You can feel that this application benefits from a recent creation, that the code behind it does not include generations of successive versions, bugs, etc., like Acrobat DC; this translates into unparalleled efficiency, combined with a current and effective interface.

This software is simple, comprehensive, lightweight (135 MB), multiplatform (MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS) with the possibility of storing documents online (10 GB), with an interface that leaves its competitors far behind (hem, not difficult). The subscription or lifetime purchase allows it to be used on 4 platforms simultaneously; the free version leaves small watermarks on the pages with the UPDF logo and allows limited AI use to 2 per day, provided you register on the UPDF platform.
