It seems to lack very basic functionality that I've been spoiled by Powerpoint and Slides for years. Examples include creating process flow diagrams and other smart objects is very clunky/manual with no snapping into place and minimal options for connectors. Lacking the very useful functionality of PPT and Slides to be able to link to another spreadsheet object (Excel or Sheets respectively) and have a chart created from that data with the ability to update it in real time.
