When I was looking for tools to develop mobile app, of all the ones I looked at appery.io (note the spelling G2 Crowd) came across as the easiest to use and to learn to use. I was able to write two apps, including back-end services and get them on the Apple App and Google Play stores despite never having done app development before. There's a tendency for the UX to feel clunky, the app equivalent of a Lego building. Also, as it's an overlay of an overlay, you start running into a few idiosyncrasies. There support is very good though so that helps. Now that I am more proficient I am getting drawn to writing code natively (in Swift and Java). But appery.io has helped get me there.
