It is free. It is based on community input and I think this map is the most accurate as of today. There is no need to go through approval process with your edits. This is important as your work is immediately accepted and visible. Comparing to other similar products your changes might not be approved and that's not very encouraging. It has a web interface to edit the map. Anybody can use the map free of charge.

Openstreetmap is very useful to know about the localities easily. It is free to use and everyone are free to edit the data.

El otro día, estaba en Google Maps tratando de ver la actualización del proyecto de paisaje urbano del Fulton Market District, pero estaba obteniendo imágenes de 2018 antes del trabajo. En OpenStreetMap, vas a obtener la información actual sobre proyectos como ese. Realmente salva el día donde Google Maps falla.
