There are a lot of things that I do not like about this program. It is very difficult to open the program, to access patient information, and the program will crash if you try to do more than one thing at once. If you type too quickly, the program lags behind. The software itself is not intuitive. It is difficult for students and temporary staff to pick up on and implement. There is an excessive amount of codes to get to different pages and records. You can not easily search for previous procedures. You can not easily search for species or breeds. You can not have multiple people logged on to the same form. I have had several experiences in which I have become locked out of a record and unable to discharge a patient because it went into a standby mode. VetStar is NOT very user friendly. You cannot really navigate intuitively with clicks you have to know the command codes
VetStar also makes it difficult as it doesn't allow us to use outside command keys (like Ctl B to bold texts or Ctl C/Ctl V to copy and paste). Furthermore, the fact that if you do copy and paste from outside documents the formatting only partially paste with it and then it is even more difficult as you have to format bit by bit rather than all at once. So much. Not user friendly. The font will frequently change sizes for no good reason. You can't copy and paste easily. It will often randomly erase your discharge and you lose everything. You can only have two vet stars open at a time. It's pretty slow. Constantly crashes. I wish we could stay logged on for longer time without having to log back in again every time it closes (same computer).
