I prefere a connector for storage in vmware and hyper-v environment, not iscsi. We want a scalable architecture in building block. Ceph is an enterprise grade open source storage technology. What I like best is it is a self healing designed group up to be highly available vs an after thought. I love that one storage technology can offer object/block/file and I don't have to have multiple vendors for each type. What I dislike is not specific to Ceph but specific to all on prem management. I believe the future in technology is going to be in the cloud. There are some awesome concepts in the CEPH foundataion:
